With all the incidents on Pasio lately, and all these UBs appearing...

we thought that it'd be nice if more people could get along with Ultra Beasts!

There were people who showed some interest in Ultra Beasts...

but there were also quite a few who were having trouble accepting them.

That's understandable... I think some people are just scared of how powerful they are.

I mean...UBs can be scary, sure.

But can't we say that about other Pokémon, too?

Think of any Legendary Pokémon, like the tapu, for example!

They're REALLY powerful, but we can still be friends with them!

Considering that, you'd think there'd be more acceptance of UBs...

Maybe it's because Ultra Beasts look so strange and different.

Yeah...

If only we could get people to understand how much fun it is know the unknown...

But these Pokémon being Ultra Beasts doesn't make them any scarier than usual, I think.

Yep!

The last time I hung out with Rei, we talked a lot.

He mentioned that there were a lot of things about Pokémon that were still unknown back in the times of Hisui.

In other words, the Pokémon that we consider ordinary now were like UBs to the people of Hisui, dangerous, mysterious creatures.

People are used to Pokémon in this era, but I guess in the end, that core fear is still the same.

At first, I was scared of Pokémon that could create electricity or fire, especially since I didn't understand them.

It took a while to build a relationship with them until they became partners I could trust.

Um... As a member of the Survey Corps, I wanted to ask...

These UBs are from a different world, right? Can you catch them with Poké Balls?

Ooooh, good question, Rei!

You can, but it's pretty difficult.

So difficult, in fact, that the Aether Foundation actually developed a special type of Poké Ball called a Beast Ball.

Beast Balls make it easier to catch UBs, but they don't work well on other Pokémon.

Interesting...

But they can only be produced in small amounts and can't be found in regular stores, so not too many people know about them.

Maybe that's one of the reasons why people find it hard to get closer to UBs?

Even in Hisui, Poké Balls weren't widespread, so Pokémon wielders were rare.

Maybe once Beast Balls are widely available, more Trainers could partner up with UBs. That could change some minds!

But we can't just sit and wait for that to happen!

I'm sure we can do what we did in Hisui when we would share the info we gathered from our surveys...

We can survey UBs, too, and introduce them to even more people!

The way people and Pokémon coexist has evolved over time.

In Hisui, people started having Pokémon help with tasks and work, which let humans become more familiar with them.

I think this is a chance for us to start changing the way we coexist with UBs, too!

Let's keep convincing more people to join us! I'll help you!

After all, if these UBs are Pokémon from another world... I can relate to that on a personal level.

Sometimes, its movements and gestures make it look like a little girl!

I can kinda see that!

So you know what I did? I decided to find some common ground and look for things it might like!

We went to a lot of different shops and stopped at some cafés...

And guess what I learned! This Nihilego really loves cute clothes and sweets!

I don't think it understands human speech, but it really seems to be enjoying itself!

That's friend material right there, don't you think?

Now, as for Stakataka...

It can be intimidating when it's aggressive, but it's usually super calm.

When it stands still like that, it really does look just like a wall...

Yeah, it seems to prefer just standing around instead of being really active.

So it's quiet, then...just like my Nosepass!
