47 linesIt's pretty lively here, huh.
Oh? You here to catch some waves, too?
Waves?
Yeah! The ocean's big enough for everyone! Walk-ins welcome!
No, that's not what I meant...
Um, so...what's everyone doing here?
We're doing a beach activity, something fun with Pokémon!
And you are?
I'm Oak, Samson Oak. I research regional variants in Alola!
I wanted everyone on Pasio to have something fun to do at the beach, so I decided to host today's event.
In fact, back in Alola, I do enjoy a bit of Mantine Surfing myself when I'm not researching!
Mantine Surfing?
It's an Alolan sport. You ride a Mantine's back and surf the ocean waves!
But we don't have the right equipment here, so it's not quite the real deal.
This one's more of a trial session for beginners!
We won't be heading offshore, but we'll still have a great time catching some waves!
Would you like to join us?
Surfing, huh.
What, Cetitan? You want me to try it out?
OK, fine. But just for a little bit.
That's the spirit!
Don't worry, we'll help you out!
Thanks. I'm counting on you.
All right! Shoots! Let's start!
Grusha and Cetitan enjoyed themselves at the beach.
Satisfied, Cetitan?
I haven't felt this kind of post-ride fatigue in ages.
Ages?
You were pretty good! Do you play any sports?
Yeah, I used to be a snowboarder.
But now I'm a Gym Leader in Paldea.
Oh, did something happen?
Back in the day, yeah.
Winter mountains are dangerous. They can throw your life right off course, easy as that.
Hmm... I guess mountains and the ocean have something in common.
They can be rough or calm, but they're still the same at their core. There are many ways to see the same thing!
Lately, I've been feeling less down...
And I'm actually starting to enjoy my life as a Gym Leader.
Like today, I'm open to trying new things.
That's great!
It's cliché to compare life to a rough sea...
but you have the strength to not be swept away! So don't worry!
Thanks. I'll try to have more confidence in myself.
If you're up for it, swing by again sometime and catch some waves with us!
Someday your surfing talent will turn into something huge, like a big wave.
That's what I think, anyway!
Sure, maybe I'll take you up on that and stop by from time to time.
