Iris's Secret

We've been waiting for you three!

Welcome to Pasio Academy!

All three of us finally made it to Pasio Academy!

Yeah! We actually did it!

I've wanted everyone to come ever since it opened!

You're doing a trial enrollment this time, right?

Yup! I'm pretty sure we'll be enrolling right after, though!

All three of us were really excited to go to school together!

That's great! By the way...

Why is Brendan already in uniform?

Heheh... I kinda got ahead of myself.

C'mon! Show us around!

Of course, but hang on a sec.

One more person was scheduled for a trial enrollment today.

Heeeeeeey!

You all got here so early!

So the other person who wanted a trial enrollment today...

It was Iris, huh?

I'm sure you're busy, being a Champion and all. Are you gonna be OK?

Yup yup! I'll be fine!

I've scheduled time for school!

I'm gonna study sooooo much here at Pasio Academy too!

What do you mean, "too"?

Well, back in Unova, I used to study a bunch at Drayden's house!

But I heard that at an academy, everyone can study all in one place!

Ever since I learned that, I've really wanted to come here!

Yeah, I can understand that!

So that's why you're wearing a uniform?

Ehehe! Yup! I just couldn't wait!

Yeah, same here!

They're getting along so well already!

OK! The whole gang's here, so let's start the tour!

After observing some lessons and touring the campus, the group reached the rooftop.

Wow! Pasio Academy even has a rooftop area?!

This is so cool! Look how far we can see!

Lots of students hang out here between classes, so it's kinda used as a break area.

It doesn't look too crowded today.

Ah! I see someone over there!

Oh, true! Heeeeey!

Oh, the Champion of Unova. That's quite a posse you've got there.

Were you doing some thinking by yourself?

Yeah. I was just cooling off for a bit.

Why? Did you have a fight with someone?

No, it's not that.

I just couldn't understand something in my computer class.

I was working on a programming assignment, and it was really complicated...

So I figured I'd get some fresh air and organize my thoughts.

Wow! Programming, huh?

Yeah! I don't know much about it, but it sounds interesting!

I've got a review class on it coming up. Wanna check it out?

Yeah... It's not easy, but I thought it'd be worth learning.

I've got a review class on it coming up. Wanna check it out?

It'll help me to have an audience. Can't look uncool, you know?

Oh, you sure?

Yeah! I wanna go!

OK, let's make that our next stop!

I'm curious, too. But I actually wanted to sit in on Mr. Jacq's biology class.

He's going to talk about the Terastal phenomenon, so I was curious, too!

Why don't we split into two groups, then?

I'll lead the way to Mr. Jacq's class!

And we'll head to the computer class!

OK! See you later!

I'm here for the programming class.

Oh. Hi. Then...you can sit over there...

Wait...Juliana?!

Penny? You're the teacher?

Um...well... I'm helping out the usual teacher by substituting.

I know a lot about computers, so I figured I could teach for a bit.

I wasn't expecting so many people to show up, though. Now I'm getting nervous...

Don't worry. They're just here to observe today.

Let's start the lesson, shall we, Teach?

O-OK. Then...

...And that's how it works. Does that make sense?

This is way more complicated than I expected!

Computers are hard!

Aw, I didn't understand any of it!

Don't feel bad if you didn't get it. This is the part where a lot of beginners struggle.

Sorry, Teach. Could you explain it again?

I won't give up! Not until I get it!

S-sure...

But why do you want to understand so badly? We don't have any exams coming up.

Actually...

It's so I can get to know this guy better.

Porygon-Z's a Pokémon that was created artificially, and it has a strong connection to computer programming.

I figured if I got better at computers, I could deepen my bond with Porygon-Z.

Oh, so that's why!

So for its sake...let's try again, Teach.

OK. Understood.

Let's try a different method this time...

Is there anything we can do to help him get along better with Porygon-Z?

Maybe we could try learning about computers alongside Gladion.

I'm sure it'll be more fun if we all study together!

Yeah! That's true!

OK! We're gonna learn how to make some AWESOME programs!

Looks like Penny's programming class is gonna be lively!

Days later...

Thanks to everyone who studied hard with me...

I understand programming a lot better now.

I think Porygon-Z and I are closer than ever.

If I hadn't seen you guys on the rooftop...

I might've given up at some point.

So...thanks, guys.

Yeah! It was hard to understand, but it was fun learning something new!

We should use what we learned and make something!

I'm so happy for you, Gladion! You really became better friends with Porygon-Z!

And we all got to bond with each other, too!

Let's keep studying and doing our best!

Yeah. I'm counting on you.

By the way...

We've been sitting in front of computers all day. My muscles are stiff!

Why don't we go to the schoolyard and get some exercise?

Good idea! If it's physical, I won't lose!

Heh. I'll go with you.

You'll join us too, right, Scottie?

Rosaaa! What should we play next?!

L-let me take a quick breather... I'm so tired from the game we were playing...

You always have so much energy, Iris! You're just amazing!

You're athletic, and you even do well in school. I'm kind of jealous you're so good at everything!

Stop, you're gonna make me blush!

I wonder if exercise sharpens your brain, too.

Hmmm. I wonder! I've never thought about it.

Back in Unova, I was always good at exercising, even before I started studying!

Maybe it's 'cause I spent so much time playing with Pokémon back in the Village of Dragons.

That makes sense!

Oh, you know what?

Lately, I've been sparring with my Pokémon, just like Drayden does!

Maybe that's also made me stronger?

I see...

I don't think there are any students here who could match your athleticism, Iris!

Oh!

Thou art able to fix not only thine own clothes but also those of others?!

Yeah... Damaged clothes bother me, so it's hard to ignore.

I make a point of fixing anything I notice right then and there.

Fascinating. Thou hast great skill with a needle, no doubt.

But with such skill, why dost thou not add more flair to thine own uniform?

More...flair?

Nah. I appreciate the idea, but that's not really my thing.

If I wore anything too extreme, I might stand out, in a bad way.

I'd rather blend in with the other students, while keeping a comfortable distance.

That mindset is common among ninja!

Shouldst thou be hesitant to alter thy attire, thou mayest find ninja interesting!

I would be more than honored to hold a lecture on their ways.

Ninja, huh.

Yeah. That's not a bad idea.

It might be worth learning a thing or two.

Dad! You're here at Pasio Academy, too?!

Are you gonna teach here or something?

Well, I was also asked to do that, yes, but I'm here for the same reason you are, Brendan.

To broaden my knowledge and learn new things!

What?! Y-you mean you're a student, like me?!

Sure am! Age and experience don't matter when it comes to learning!

Studying is a lifelong endeavor. Even as an adult!

Wow... Even as an adult?

Wait, if you're a student...

then you'll be classmates with older students and members of the Elite Four, like Drake and Glacia.

And you'll share notes and join clubs with them, too?!

Hahaha! I certainly could!

I can't even imagine...

As a family, we should thank Pasio Academy for such a rare opportunity!

We should have a school song!

I wanna make one just like the one we had at the academy in Paldea.

That's my goal! I wanna make it happen one day!

Yeah! That'd be great!

Singing along with your classmates is all part of the student experience, y'know?

Right?! Plus, you need one for school events!

If we make one for Pasio Academy, it should be something ANYONE will want to sing, no matter their age!

Totally! If we students have a hand in making it, it'll be perfect for our school!

We have a lot of famous musicians here on Pasio...

I'm sure it'd be fun if we got them involved!

I want it to be super cute!

A cute song...or a cool song...

To each their own, I guess. Seems it'd be hard to please everyone.

What if we made a Pasio Academy song committee?

Any student who wants to could join. It could become a precious memory!

Hey, hey! Wanna study with me?
