Challenge Hugh: Part 1

While Nate was competing in a series of intense battles at the Neo Champion Stadium...

Meloetta used to get too nervous to sing in front of anyone other than you...

But now, it seems like it's fine with me being here.

I think it'd be OK singing in front of a big crowd now.

I think so, too. But Meloetta, on the other hand...

I don't think it's feeling quite confident enough yet.

Relic Song is a precious song that can bring out Meloetta's wonderful powers to their fullest...

I wanna do what I can to make Meloetta feel more confident!

All right! Then...

we should take it easy for the rest of the day!

It wouldn't do any good if you pushed yourselves too hard and got sick!

Right!

Good timing, you two.

They just announced Pasio's latest Neo Champion!

The chosen sync pair was...

Nate and Haxorus!

The power to touch the hearts of others is truly fascinating!

I'd love to measure it using a method other than Pokémon battles next time!

Yeah! After hearing why each participant was nominated...

I felt that the power to touch the hearts of others can take many forms!

I don't think it should be limited to how strong you are in Pokémon battles!

And now, for my next announcement!

We'll be holding part two of this Neo Champion Stadium!

Whaaaaaa?!

I can't believe you suddenly announced part two of the Neo Champion Stadium without consulting me...

But...I suppose I'll allow it! Be grateful that I'm so forgiving!

Ehehe. Thanks, Lear!

Now, let me formally explain the rules for part two of this Neo Champion Stadium!

Just like part one, you'll need to be nominated by other Trainers to earn the chance to participate.

But this time, we won't be judging based on Pokémon battles!

We want you to put on a performance of your choice to show us that you have the power to touch the hearts of others!

We'll use my Colress Machine again for unbiased judging.

I'm looking forward to seeing some fantastic data created by the bond between people and Pokémon!

A few days later...

I'm going to be competing since everyone nominated me, but...

We want to nominate you, Rosa.

We'll cheer you on with all we've got!

I-I'm happy that you all want to nominate me...

But when I think back to when I was worried about Meloetta at the last competition...

Don't worry, Rosa!

I'm sure you and Meloetta will put on an amazing performance!

A-are you nervous? Me too, actually...

I want to make sure I can ease your worries and live up to everyone's expectations...

I'll work really hard to do that!

Let's see... What kind of performance should we do?

Should I sing and dance with Meloetta, too?

Oh, there they are!

I guess the lesson hasn't started yet?

Whoa! Real idols?!

Lisia and Dawn! And Hugh's here, too?!

They're here to help you!

I don't know much about performances, so I brought some people who do!

Is that Meloetta?

I heard it has a beautiful singing voice!

That's right!

I've been a huge fan of its singing ever since we met in Unova!

It learned how to sing Relic Song, the song we're practicing right now, at Café Sonata.

The moment Meloetta started singing Relic Song, it changed its form and looked so pretty!

*chuckle* You must really love Meloetta, Rosa!

I want to hear Meloetta's song, too!

What do you think, Meloetta?

Let's show these two what we've been practicing!

Maaarvelous!

What a bittersweet yet fun melody, it's so wonderful!

You're participating in the competition as a sync pair, right?

Are you going to sing or dance, Rosa?

I'm actually trying to figure out what kind of performance I want to do.

It's not like I'm a good singer or dancer like you two are...

You'll be OK!

I was able to become an idol thanks to Lisia's help.

Even if you can't accomplish something on your own, you can do it as long as you're with Meloetta!

Yeah! And that song just now really painted a picture of how you feel about Unova!

I think you could express all that in your own words, Rosa!

In my own words...

Meloetta could do the singing and dancing, and I could do the acting...

Singing, dancing, and acting...

A musical!

Let's head over to town, Meloetta! I have a great idea!

Huh?!

Thanks for the advice, you two!

I'm glad we could help her...

but we also just cheered on the person we're going to be competing against.

Heh, we won't lose!

I know! If I were to give this competition a title, it'd be...

"Who's the Next Neo Champion?! A Heart-touching Performance Competition!"

Hmm... The singing and dancing are nice...

But the Pokémon doesn't seem to be doing so well...

Don't worry, Meloetta!

I'll make sure our feelings resonate with everyone with a louder voice!

Hello, everyone!

Meloetta and I will be participating in the upcoming Neo Champion Stadium.

Through our performance...

we want to show how wonderful my home, Unova, is!

What makes Unova shine is its people and Pokémon, who express their thoughts and feelings in all sorts of different ways!

That's what I love about it!

Meloetta's singing voice awakens those feelings in me.

When I'm with Meloetta, I feel like I can accomplish anything!

Seems like they're gonna be OK.

*cough cough*

On the day that part two of the Neo Champion Stadium was to be held...

The participating sync pairs took their turns showing off their performances...

and touched the hearts of the judges.

And then...

It's finally Rosa and Meloetta's turn!

I'm getting nervous, too.

They're gonna do great!

I'm Rosa and this is Meloetta. We hope you enjoy our performance!

We're going to perform a musical to show our love for Unova!

*cough*

(Did I lose my voice?!)

What's wrong with Rosa?

It doesn't seem to be a part of their performance.

(My voice, ! I practiced too much...)

(But...)

(I'll be OK as long as I'm with Meloetta.)

Incredible!

I feel happier just watching them!

The numbers are rising!

The power of their bond is spreading out through the melody and enveloping the entire audience!

I totally get what she's trying to say, even without words!

I can feel Rosa and Meloetta's love for Unova!

It's just like what the guitarist at Café Sonata said...

A beautiful melody makes people happy.

A sad melody makes people sorrowful...

That's the power of melodies...

(No matter how hard things get, it'll be all right.)

(Meloetta and I will make everyone smile.)

(I learned this strength of heart from everyone who lives in Unova!)

Rosa's strong in Pokémon battles, but what's even more amazing than that...

is that she tries her hardest to make people smile, no matter what.

You're right... Watching her makes me feel more courageous and positive.

Yeah!

She's shining so brightly!

I was touched by all the performances!

But among the competitors, there was one pair that demonstrated the joy and excitement of overcoming obstacles.

I'm gonna award the title of Neo Champion to Rosa!

The way their message resonated with every person in the audience and reached their hearts was truly magnificent!

I'm extremely pleased to have collected some good data following the first Neo Champion Stadium!

Now, let's have the Neo Champions come out!

Is your voice OK, Rosa?

Yeah... I got to rest for a bit, so it's feeling a little better. I'm sorry I made you worry!

Rosa!

I was so moved, Rosa! I can't believe we...

Oh, right! Nate, there's something I need to say to you!

Congrats on becoming Neo Champion!

I couldn't congratulate you after part one, so...

Haha! So that's what you were gonna tell me!

I'm happy to hear you say that! And now it's my turn to say...

Congrats on becoming Neo Champion, Rosa!

Thanks, Nate!
