Challenge Bede: Part 1

Hey, everyone! Thanks for coming to my new year's live show!

If you couldn't make it to the venue, I hope you still tuned into the live stream!

I'm super happy that so many people are watching!

Lissi! Could you do a twirl?

Sure! Let's all do it together!

Dazzling, dizzying, doldrums defying!

Dazzling! Dizzying!

Hehe! This live show is so fun, it's like a dream!

Oh, I forgot! I'm not alone today!

Let me introduce someone! This is my friend who formed an idol unit with me...

Hey, Uncle Wall! I had a dream where I did a new year's live show!

It was so exciting, it would be a waste for it to stay just a dream.

That's why I want to make this dream a reality!

A new year's live show... What a wonderful idea!

Let's get everyone on Pasio involved and have lots of people come and watch!

Right?! If I were to name it...

How about "Let's Have Fun Together! An Exhilarating New Year's Show!"?

That's it! Leave the preparation and venue operations to me!

I'll prepare the perfect stage for you!

Thank you, Uncle Wall!

Oh yeah! I'd love to have a special outfit for this rare occasion!

You should visit Valerie, a famous designer from Kalos.

She should be able to prepare the perfect outfit for your show!

OK! I'll visit Valerie!

(In my dream, I formed an idol unit with someone...)

(I didn't mention it to Uncle Wall, but...)

(It would be sooo wonderful if someone like that really is out there!)

What a beautiful dance. I love it!

So beautiful...

It really is!

We formed a sync pair because Oricorio's dancing stole my heart!

Oricorio changes its form based on the nectar it drinks...

And I think each appearance is so gorgeous, just like an idol!

Hiii!

Oh, Lisia!

I heard you're doing a live show soon!

I am! I'm in the middle of preparing for it.

So I came here to ask Valerie for a favor!

You need Valerie's help? What kind of favor do you need?

I'd like her to make the outfits for my live show!

Making outfits, huh...

I'm terribly sorry, but Valerie is very busy.

It'll be difficult for her to take on a request without advance notice...

Oh, I guess that makes sense...

Valerie is a very famous designer, after all...

Hold on a minute.

Could you show me your Rapidash, Lisia?

Who, Dashie? Of course I can!

A Rapidash from Galar... So handsome...

But its features and colors look different from when I saw it in a book.

You're right! I got Dashie from my fans since I've been on Pasio.

I only found out later that it's a rare color, because I didn't know much about Rapidash from Galar!

Did you say you're doing a live show, Lisia?

Would you let me design your outfit for the show?

You'd do that?!

But, I do have one request.

In exchange for making your outfit, I want you and Dawn to form an idol unit.

Whaaaaat?! M-me?!

When Oricorio and Rapidash line up next to each other, they're so beautiful.

Seeing that gave me an idea!

I'd love to see you two next to each other, dancing in the outfits I design...

So... I'm gonna form an idol unit with Dawn?

Yeah! That's just so marvelous!

What do you think, Dawn?

You want me to be an idol...with Lisia...

*stare*

... ... ...

Okay, I'll do it! I'll be an idol!

It's important to try everything, right?

So let's go on stage together!

Yay! Let's do it!

I'll take care of the design. Could you make them, Kali?

Oh, was your schedule full?

No, I'll make it happen! I'll be sure to meet your expectations, Valerie!

Hehe, it's getting exciting!

I'll name it "An Idol Duo Is Born!"

That was a great lesson, Dawn! Your sense of rhythm was perfect!

Thanks. Maybe my experience with Pokémon contests is coming in handy.

My mom participates in contests back in Sinnoh, so...

I've been practicing my performance so I can beat my mom one day!

Oh really? I think the fruits of your training are definitely showing!

Is that Lisia?!

It's the real Lissi!

Whoa! There're so many Lisia fans!

Everyone! I know this is sudden, but we're gonna have a new year's live show soon!

It's definitely, DEFINITELY gonna be a fun one, and I'd be happy if everyone came!

(She must be tired from the lesson, but she's talking to her fans with the brightest smile...)

(This is what an idol is! Amazing, Lisia!)

There was a crowd, so I came to see what kind of skilled Trainer would be here, but...

Turns out it's just an idol.

What a disappointment... It doesn't seem like there's any point in battling.

What's with you?! Showing up all of a sudden...

Oh, really? We'll see about that! I've been training for Pokémon battles, too!

I know! I'll introduce my partner Pokémon!

This is Dashie, the Rapidash!

Huh, a Rapidash of a rare color. But my...

My fans from Galar gave me Dashie as a gift!

H-huh?

My fans were the ones who named him, too!

I'm gonna live up to their expectations and work hard for my next show!

Right?

You're quite a "unique" individual...

"Unique"? He said I'm one of a kind!

Speaking with you somehow just doesn't work for me.

Reminds me of...

*sigh* Nevermind. Good luck, I suppose, with your idol activities.

Thanks! Make sure to come to the live show!

I don't think he was supporting us...

Hm?

N-nothing!

Let's practice even more and make it the best performance ever!

Valerie's designs... Beautiful as always!

The beauty of Lisia's and Dawn's partner Pokémon is expressed so perfectly!

I'll leave you the rest, Kali. I need to rest for a bit...

Y-yes! Leave it to me!

Can I do it? Can I prepare this outfit without losing any bit of beauty from the design?

Wait... I can't be cowardly! As Valerie's student, I've got to see this through!

Hang in there, Lisia, Dawn!

On the day of the live show, Lisia and Dawn were rehearsing...

That was wonderful! It's coming together very well, both of you!

Once we get the outfits, it'll be perfect!

Thank you, Uncle Wall!

But I'm kinda worried, since the outfits haven't arrived yet...

It should be fine! Valerie and Kali will definitely get them to us on time!

That's right! Kali said she'd do her best as well!

Apologies for the long wait. The show will begin now.

Let's go, Lisia!

*pant pant* I have to deliver the outfits...quickly!

But...

Why aren't we moving?

It's crowded because there're so many people going to the show.

At this rate, I won't be able to make it in time for the show!

What's with this crowd?

There's a live show ahead, so that's why it's crowded...

Oh, those two... That's today?

I have to get their outfits to them, but I don't have much time left...

Well, in that case, you should move them with a Pokémon battle.

Wh-what are you saying?

Everyone's looking forward to today's show!

We can't do anything that would ruin the atmosphere!

Hm, I see...

I guess that makes sense considering the enthusiasm I used to see during my Gym Challenge.

Well then, allow me to give you a bit of a helping hand...

with Hatterene's psychic powers!

Wh-whoa! I'm floating!

Ahhhhhhh!

Hey, did you just see someone flying through the sky?

Whoa! Is this part of the performance?

Making a person float over a short distance is easy...

when you're the partner Pokémon of an elite Trainer like me!

Both of you, please get ready to go soon!

The outfits didn't make it...

Yeah... It can't be helped, the outfits won't change what we're gonna do!

We can just wear the outfits at our next show!

Yeah! Let's sing our hearts out for Valerie and Kali's sake!

Wait!

Kali!

I'm sorry I'm late! Here're your outfits!

Now, take these!

Wow! These outfits are wonderful!

Oh, wow! This outfit's design matches Dashie!

I'm looking forward to the show, you two!

Alright! Let's get out there and shine bright!

Sorry for the wait, everyone!

Thank you for coming to our live show today!

Looking cute, Lissi!

*squeal* Look over here!

Today is the first live show with the two of us!

Once again, I present to you a special member of our unit...Dawn!

You can do it, Dawn!

I was afraid at first. I wondered if I could actually be an idol...

But...

When I saw Lisia, who's always shining bright...

it made me want to be like her and stand on the same stage together and shine...

So...I became an idol!

(Being in a unit is so much fun!)

(What I dreamed is coming true!)

Hm? What's up, Lisia?

Oh, nothing!

All right! Let's do this!

Could you both do a twirl?

Sure thing! Let's all do it together, everyone!

Dazzling! Dizzying!

Doldrums defying!

Dazzling! Dizzying!

They're both wonderful!

They're having so much fun and truly enjoy being idols from the bottom of their hearts.

Those're the feelings they're sending me.

Me, too. Not to mention, the outfits you and Valerie made are equally as elegant!

We have a special stage and the perfect outfits to make our idols shine.

It's the best new year's live show! Utterly Glorious!

This enthusiasm... Not half bad.

I suppose it wouldn't be a terrible way to burn some time.

Thank you for coming, everyone!

Let's have an absolute blast and welcome the new year with the best live show ever!
