1. Faba's Achievement?
194 linesThe Alola Region Fair was being held on Pasio.
It was garnering a lot of popularity as a spot where one could go to enjoy Alolan specialties.
The fair seems to be a success!
All thanks to your support, of course.
This was also made possible by everyone from Alola who pitched in to help out...
and the employees of Aether Foundation.
Our planner has been very enthusiastic about this project.
Oh? Did I just hear you mention me, the Aether Foundation's last line of defense?
I am Faba, the planner and the one responsible for this event!
So it was your idea, Faba!
You should be proud of the work you've done. Keep it up!
Yes, of course, sir! Rest assured, I'll continue to exceed your expectations!
The Aether Foundation's reputation will surely reap the benefits of this fair!
And so, President Lusamine, if you'd be so kind as to consider that promotion for me, I'm sure...
Please remember that this event was not a solo endeavor on your part.
Gwah...
Bwahahaha! It seems that, like me, you're being put through your paces, Faba! I know the feeling!
Hm? Larry?
Hello, Kabu.
That's a rather...loud outfit you've got on. Did you want to try out a new look?
Not at all. Actually...
Larry, I hear you have plans to go to the Alola fair on your day off?
... ... ... Yes, I do, but...
Here, this is for you.
... ... ...
What is this?
It's a present. Consider it my thanks for all your hard work.
I figured if you're going to the Alola fair, you'll enjoy it even more wearing that outfit!
... ... ...
...and that's what happened.
It was a kind gesture, so I couldn't NOT wear it...
Hahaha... Nothing you can do about that, I suppose.
I personally would have been more comfortable in my usual attire...
but that aside, today is a great opportunity to try out some Alolan cuisine.
Flamigo and I plan on resting our wings and enjoying our time here.
And so...
That concludes our campus tour!
What are your thoughts on Pasio Academy?
I think it's fantastic!
I'd be more than happy to be a guest lecturer here!
We'd appreciate that, Professor Oak!
Wow! We did it, Director Clavell!
I'm looking forward to his lectures myself.
That's not good...
Did something happen?
Yeah...
We heard that some academy students were causing trouble...
Students from the academy, you say?
Director, you've heard that an Alola fair's under way, right?
Yes, indeed. Is it related to that?
Some students claiming to be from Pasio Academy have been posting about the fair on social media...
but it's all this really inflammatory, negative stuff...
They've been harassing the vendors at the fair, baiting them to get angry...
And they've been writing over-the-top negative reviews about the food being served...
Why would they do such a thing?
I think they're just doing it for the views. That sort of content tends to attract a lot of attention.
People share and comment more on content like that, so the person who posted it can get a lot of attention.
But we still don't know who's doing this, 'cause they've been hiding their faces and names.
And it would only add fuel to the fire if we tried to identify them publicly...
I see...
We would really like to get them to stop as soon as possible.
We've seen comments from people saying they want to know who's posting so they can get back at them...
... ... ...
(Let's see... First is the Take Down steak? The thickness is fantastic. And each bite floods my mouth with delicious umami...)
(Now, next we have a malasada. It's soft but also pleasantly chewy... Just like the guidebook said.)
(Tapu Cocoa... What a heartwarming flavor. It's so simple, and yet there's a subtle complexity to it...)
(What's next?)
(Z-Sets?)
(The menu says they have meat, fish, and vegetarian sets...)
(Wait. There's also a special set?)
Excuse me. Could I have a special Z-Set?
Thanks for stopping by! One special set coming right up!
People say our flavors are pretty unique... Does that sound OK?
That's fine.
Order up! One special Z-Set!
Thank you.
*munch munch* *gulp*
(The flavors are indeed unique...but they're not bad at all.)
(So this is what Alolan home cooking tastes like...)
Thank you for the food.
Thanks again for stopping by! Come again!
Unbelievable... He finished an entire special...
And he was really savoring it, too!
'Sup. You're pretty cool.
I also tried one of those specials... But I couldn't finish it.
Oh. Thank you.
Um... Director Clavell?
You must have me confused with someone else.
The name's Clive. I'm a Pasio Academy student.
OK...
Oh! I don't have time to chat. Sorry, but I should go.
There's something I need to take care of.
(Is that part of his job at the academy?)
(Teachers must have it rough, too...)
(Phew... That was close. I was almost discovered!)
(I have to hurry and find those students who are causing trouble.)
Excuse me.
I'm looking for some Alolan specialties...
Oh, I know a place you could go!
There's more to Alola than just the food!
Here, follow us!
(Professor Oak?!)
Oh! Well, hello there. Good to meet you. I'm Oak, Samson Oak.
I'm a Pokémon researcher studying regional variants in Alola!
Hm? Samson? Regional variants?
Ahem... Pardon me, but...you're Professor Oak, right?
Ahahaha! Oh, I see!
Actually, the Professor Oak from Kanto is my cousin Samuel.
People sometimes get us mixed up... But if you look closely, we're pretty different, wouldn't you say?
Oh! My apologies! Er, I mean, my bad!
Oh, wow! You look just like what I saw in the magazines and stuff! This is THE Alolan experience!
Would you like to listen to his lecture with us? I'm sure it'd be pretty helpful, if you're a student...
My goodness, that was fascinating!
I wasn't expecting such an informative lecture about regional variants!
Hahaha! I'm honored that you found it useful!
I enjoyed myself thoroughly... That lecture was worth every second.
Oh, man! I just remembered I was supposed to be doing something else! Please excuse me!
I spent too much time here... I need to get back to my search!
Oh? You're looking for something?
Yes, actually. I'm looking for some students who were causing a fuss on social media...
Wh-what?! Negative reviews about the fair?!
... ... ...
Shhh! Keep it down!
Apparently, they're using social media accounts to flood us with bad reviews...
How DARE they!
I can't have trouble at a fair that I'M in charge of planning!
Why, I'll get all the blame if it becomes a liability, and my status at the foundation will be at stake!
But what can we do about it?
Hey. Could you let us in on some of the details of that?
And who are YOU? Outsiders have no business with us!
Students from the academy I attend might be behind this.
WH-WHAT?!
Let us help you find the people behind those social media accounts.
I'm sure we'll be able to find them faster if we join forces.
If that's the case, I might have a lead...
Oh?
I saw some rowdy kids causing a fuss while I was enjoying some Alolan dishes...
I just wanted to enjoy my food in peace, so I drove them off with a Pokémon battle...
But at the time, I didn't realize they were causing an even bigger problem.
It's not much, but I do remember their faces, so perhaps I could lend you a hand...
Really?! Quickly, then! Lead the way!
Look at this! THIS is what you call customer service?!
Hey! You're the little scoundrels, aren't you!
You're the troublemakers behind those ridiculous videos!
Oops! Busted!
Yeah, it was us! We're students from Pasio Academy, and we've been causing ALL kinds of trouble!
Do not lie to us.
Huh?
I know each and every one of the students at the academy.
You're not actually students at Pasio Academy, are you.
Ugh, he got us.
We were just trying to take down that academy full of nothin' but goody-goodies!
Yeah! We hate getting judged! And trying to fit into society is a drag!
We're gonna live our lives how WE wanna live 'em!
Plus, I don't wanna be a boring adult when I grow up...
like THAT guy over there!
Look at him! He's sooo desperate to get a promotion! How pathetic is that?!
EXCUSE me?!
Well, I can't say you're completely wrong...
In this world, freedom is limited, especially once you become a working adult.
H-hey! What are you...
However, I'm of the opinion that NOT standing out is one way to live...
One that allows you to focus on the things you want to do.
Stand out in a bad way, and you get hammered back in. That's about as far from freedom as you can get.
Right now, by making all of this fuss and trouble...
aren't you just creating more of a hassle and less freedom for yourselves?
I...I mean...
As long as you follow the rules, nobody can get on your case about how you live your life.
And as long as your work's done on time, you can spend the rest of your day however you please.
... ... ...
There are times when adapting to your environment, rather than fighting it, can draw out your hidden potential!
That's something I've learned from researching Pokémon regional variants!
Yeah...
Also, Pasio Academy is not the kind of place that'd try to hold you back from being who you are and doing what you want to do.
You should really give it a try before jumping to conclusions.
Ugh! Stop nagging, already. We get it!
We'll stop posting, if that gets you old fogies off our backs.
After that, the Alola fair ended as a huge success.
I was quite worried at one point, but now I can breathe a sigh of relief!
By the way, young man...are you interested in advancing your career?
I would be more than happy to submit a referral on your behalf to the Aether Foundation.
Sorry, but no can do. After all...
Allow me to reintroduce myself. My name is Clavell.
I disguised myself to go undercover, but I'm actually the director of an academy in the Paldea region.
WH-WHAT?!
Oh, my! I DID wonder why you were so well-mannered!
Wow, you're the director? My apologies for any rudeness on my part!
Mr. Faba...
Eeek! D-don't tell me YOU are also someone important in disguise!
No, I'm not. I'm just your average, everyday employee...
I just wanted to say...I had a great day off at the Alola fair.
All of the food was outstanding. Thank you.
(Living an ordinary life may seem easy, but it's actually quite hard to achieve.)
(I should ask him to give a lecture one of these days, too...)
