A Glorious Gambit: Part 2

Well, isn't that something?

I played my hand for all it was worth, and yet... here we are.

Victory's yours, Scottie.

This marks the second time I've seen that look on your face. It's not bad at all.

I just wish it didn't also mark the second time I've lost to you.

Heh. Maybe, but a loss is a loss.

The winner takes all, and there's nothing left for the loser.

That's the way of battle. I'm back to having nothing left.

I won't argue with that, Grimsley.

But having lost doesn't change what I...what we aim to do.

We're going to keep fighting until we reach the peak, no matter how many losses it takes.

You're coming with us, Grimsley. You wouldn't be satisfied with ending things on another loss, would you?

Besides, I haven't quite had my fill of that thrilling battle style of yours.

Will... Karen...

Heh. I guess we're all Trainers of a particularly strange feather.

Let's get going. Losers like us don't get to stick around onstage.

Oh, Nanu...

It looks like my visit to Alola might have to wait a little while.

No problem. It's a standing invitation.

So now we've scraped by through round four.

Man, every time we take a step forward, we bump into a stronger team than the last. Wonder what we're in for in the next round.

The quarterfinals are what we're in for, Brock! Which means we've got to go in pumped up and ready to fight!

Right, Scottie?

You said it! See, Brock? That's the kind of energy we're gonna need!

Haha! All right, point taken. I'm gonna turn it up even higher than before!

That's what I like to hear. C'mon, I think they might have posted the matchups for the next round. Let's go check!

Sounds like a plan.

Aw, come on, Scottie! Not you, too!

Well, let's at least go see if they've posted the matchups for the next round before we all take a break, all right?

Good call. The sooner we know who we're up against, the better.

Let's get moving.

Is that who I think it is?

Oh! Cynthia!

Congratulations! That was quite a battle you all fought.

It looks like you all have gotten even better since last time.

Thank you very much. That's why we can't afford to coast right now.

The further we get in this tournament, the more these battles take everything we've got to win.

Would you like to come with us to check the quarterfinal matchups, Cynthia?

Yeah, we're just about to head over.

Oh! You mean you haven't seen yet?

Then I think I can save you the trouble.

What do you mean?

I already know who you'll be up against.

I hope you'll give us a good fight.

What?!
