Progress Is Progress!

So, how were the sync pairs the machine found for you this time?

Um...

It's OK... You don't have to say it...

Our Sync Pair Pinger...was a failure.

Sorry, everyone. You believed in our invention, even though you were short on time...

but we weren't able to help you out...

Arara...don't look so gloomy, you two!

Yeah, you helped us a bunch! Right, Scottie?

Yeah! It was fun battling everyone!

Yup! Thanks to you guys, I got a lot of fantastic shots of everyone, too!

Thanks, everyone. But unfortunately...

...A failure is still a failure...

Well...maybe it didn't work this time.

But you still made progress!

Huh?

Look up at the sky, both of you.

I run an observatory, so every day I look up at the sky, just like this.

One day, I hope to discover a brand-new star that nobody has ever seen before.

A brand-new star?

Oh! That's amazing, Molayne!

Thanks! I still haven't discovered one yet, though.

But if I don't find one today, maybe I will tomorrow! And if not tomorrow, it might show up the next day...

But I'm sure I'll find one eventually as long as I don't give up!

It's the same with inventions.

Really?

As long as you keep on trying, one day you'll succeed! A setback doesn't mean your work has gone to waste.

Because you're still making progress!

Big Mo...

B-Big Mo!

We were so fixated on our failures...

That's fine! It shows that you're passionate about creating something that can help others!

Now...

That said, we're not quite done yet, are we, Scottie?

I was thinking about it, and...

Hm? Dugtrio?

Huh? Togedemaru?!

Heliolisk, you too?!

Could this mean...?

They're responding to the Sync Pair Pinger?

What?!

Of course! Clemont is a Gym Leader!

Yeah! Sophocles is a Captain...and Molayne is a member of the Elite Four!

Which means this experiment...

...Was actually a success?

... ... ...

I see. In that case, Soffy, Clemont, why don't we have a battle?

Big Mo!

No holding back, of course. After all, this is to help out Scottie!

Right, Scottie?

Scottie...

Understood! If I've been chosen by the machine...

I'll give it everything I've got!

All out...

Right! I may have lost last time, but this time, I'm gonna win!

Then it's decided! Time for a battle!

I'll gladly show you the skills of a Trainer who toughened up while adventuring alongside Kukui back in the day!
