Seeking the World's Secrets

Oh? What's going on here?

Ah, Volo! Perfect timing! Actually...

Remember that idea you gave me for upgrading Poryphones?

Everyone here helped me test it, and we were able to collect more data than ever!

I was just thinking I should thank you!

Glad to be of service, Mr. Jacq!

I'd love to be able to draw out the power of sync stones ultimate too, to help you in your research.

Just like Cynthia and the others!

You mean you wish to awaken your arc suit too?

Indeed!

Actually, I wanted to ask you something about that, Cynthia!

Would you battle me in the Arceus Cup?

You want to redeem yourself, I presume.

Very well! I accept your challenge!

I see! So now it's your turn to awaken your arc suit, Volo!

I'll be cheering you on this time! I know you can do it!

I'll be cheering for you as well.

It was thanks to your keen questions I was able to reaffirm my bond with my partner Pokémon and attain my arc suit.

Why, thank you! That's comforting to hear! I'll be sure to give it my all!

If I may...

Why do you wish to awaken your arc suit?

It doesn't seem just out of interest in research or beating Cynthia.

You seem to have strong feelings about it.

Hahaha! Can't get anything past you, can I.

I've been fascinated with myths a long time, and studied them on my own.

Through my studies, I learned of a Pokémon named Arceus.

That piqued my curiosity, and sparked a desire to unravel the secrets of the world!

I've spent my entire life pursuing Arceus.

I simply wish for its eminence to acknowledge me.

That's all.

I see...

Very well. Then I'll also be cheering for you in the Arceus Cup!

(I didn't get the sense he was lying...)

(So why does my heart feel uneasy?)

Days later...

Once again, the Arceus Cup is about to begin!

It's the same matchup as in the first... but flipped! Cynthia now stands before Volo, who's challenged her to a rematch!

These two have a score to settle! Who will come out on top?!

Don't expect me to let you win twice.

Then come at us with everything you've got!

I won't hold back a single ounce.

I, Cynthia, accept your challenge! There won't be any letup from me!

Urgh...

Shine, sync stone ultimate!

If she can do it, so can I!

Arceus! If you're watching, respond!

Huhuhuh... HAHAHAHAHA!

So you refuse to acknowledge me?!

Seems it's still too soon to awaken your arc suit.

When I battled you before, you treated your Pokémon like tools, and that hasn't changed.

You'll never build a true bond with your Pokémon that way!

NO! I don't accept that!

If you refuse to accept me...

Then you've left me no choice but to FORCE you to!

What are you, ?!

Giratina?! Why...
