Sweet and Sour Eggplant Stir Fry?
Gabia stares at the top of my head, looking puzzled.
Sweet soy pepper barbecue?
Gabia frowns, not sure what I'm talking about.
Newsweek resource planner.
Gabia looks a little surprised as if she didn't expect this answer.
4. Part 4
7 lines5. Part 5
7 linesGabia excitedly pulls out a megaphone.
Unauthorized performances are not allowed in public.
Gabia trudges out of the banquet hall with her shoulders slumped.
Is there something you'd like to say?
Thank-you-for-the-meal-Master!
A megaphone isn't enough. Let me put in a hearing aid, too.
Master!!! Huh? Did you just pass out?!
6. Part 6
7 linesGabia starts scribbling on the table.
Take her pen away and scold her.
Looking upset, Gabia mumbles something and storms out of the banquet hall angrily.
Wait until she finishes scribbling.
Her scrawls are complete. It looks like a picture of Gabia strangling me... no, we have our arms around each other's shoulders.
Spill water over her scribbles.
Gabia sighs and goes somewhere else to scribble, but gives up with a sour expression.
7. Part 7
7 linesGabia brings two stones and places them in front of me. What's this?
The shining stone looks like a gem. Point at that one.
Gabia shyly puts the gem in my hand and runs away.
The smooth stone looks like a viewing stone. Point at that one.
Gabia mumbles with a proud look on her face and explains this and that about it. I don't understand a single thing she said.
Grab both stones, one in each hand, and throw them at Gabia.
Gabia bursts into tears. Everyone around me boos at me.
8. Part 8
7 linesGabia has brought a wooden board with letters on it. I recognize this. It's a spirit board...
Hold the pen with Gabia and play along.
One by one, letters are put together to form a sentence. "L-I-V-E T-O-G-E-T-H-E-R U-N-D-E-R T-H-E E-A-R-T-H F-O-R-E-V..." I'd better run away.
You shouldn't believe in superstitions like this! These are for kids!
Gabia holds up the spirit board and panics, then breaks into a cold sweat and starts crying.
Gabia, if you want to tell me something, just say it.
Gabia thinks hard for a moment and starts mumbling excitedly. We should have just used the spirit board.
9. Part 9
7 linesGabia takes one bite of her food and gestures that she is full.
That bad? You're already tired of it?
Gabia makes a sour face. Guess that was the wrong thing to say.
You want me to wrap up the leftovers?
Gabia shakes her head no. Guess she's had enough.
You want to know if anyone leaves the free food unfinished?
Gabia nods and makes a stern face. If you throw your food waste on the ground, you'll get in trouble.
10. Part 10
7 linesGabia has brought me a letter, but it's blank inside.
Is this a secret letter that reveals writing when held near a flame? Let's see...
The letter burns. There is no secret writing. Gabia cries so hard that I have a hard time comforting her...
You want me to write you a letter with this?
I draw her a raccoon on the blank sheet of paper and she goes home with a happy smile on her face.
I could make a nice paper plane with this.
I fold a paper airplane with it and let it fly. The plane crashes into the fireplace and burns to ashes. Gabia glowers at me for a long time.
11. Part 11
7 linesGabia shifts her eyes from left to right.
Don't you like the food?
Gabia quietly says "salty." I guess today's food didn't suit her taste.
Do you have something in your eyes?
When I try to blow on her eyes, Gabia pulls back. She must have been startled as her face turned red.
Move my finger following the movement of her pupils.
Gabia headbutts my finger. I don't know what that was about, but I guess that wasn't it.
12. Part 12
7 linesGabia is laying something out on the table. Are those pebbles?
Try playing a game of jacks with the stones.
I hear tiny squeaking sounds from the back of my hand. They're lesser earth elementals.
Pick up a stone and put it in my mouth.
Gabia's eyes grow wide as she smacks the back of my head. The lesser earth elementals come tumbling out of my mouth.
Roll a stone around in my hand.
I hear a giggling sound from my hand. It was a Lesser Earth Elemental. Gabia's face lights up with pride.
13. Part 13
7 linesGabia suddenly stares blankly at the table.
Clean the table for her.
Gabia nods in satisfaction. Someone must have spilled food.
Sprinkle flour on the dining table.
Gabia gives me a look that says "What are you doing?"
I lower my head to match her eye level and give her a smile.
Gabia is startled at first, then looks at my face carefully and responds with a smile.
14. Part 14
7 linesGabia coughs. Did she catch a cold?
Ask if she wants to go to Hilde.
Gabia shakes her head from side to side, clearly displeased.
Open the window to let in some fresh air.
Gabia seems to feel a little better, but she continues coughing.
Bring warm water.
Gabia drinks the water and quietly says thank you. It seems she choked on her food.
15. Part 15
7 linesGabia is tilting her plate this way and that.
Since Gabia is an earth elemental, pour some soil onto her plate.
Gabia builds a small castle with the pile of dirt and happily plays house.
Take a closer look at Gabia's plate.
She was playing by rolling small stones around on the plate. They seem to be little earth elementals.
Snatch the plate away and put it in the sink.
Gabia tries to take the plate back but it's no use. She starts crying loudly.
16. Part 16
7 linesA...m...a?
Could it be that you think the food is bad and I should quit?
Gabia looks troubled. She goes "Mmm... yum..." So, does that mean the food is delicious?
Are you worried this is going to go up in flames?
At the mention of "flames", Gabia looks around nervously, as if scanning the area for any sign of Ifrit.
Are you worried about not being so popular with the others?
Gabia's face turns bright red and she bursts into tears. I think I said something wrong.
17. Part 17
7 linesGabia is rubbing the water spilled on the table with her finger.
Stop that, you're making a mess!
Gabia sulks. It seems like she was just playing by herself.
Oh my, I'm sorry! Some other customer must have spilled some water.
Gabia nods with a pleased expression. It seems I handled that well.
Fill a bucket with water and pour it over her.
After getting doused with water, Gabia's eyes widen. She stares directly into my eyes for a long while.
18. Part 18
7 linesFo...u...
"For you"? Do you want to give me something?
Gabia hands me a crumpled note. It says "Delicious".
"Fork...you"? Is this place so bad, you're trying to insult the cook?
Gabia frantically waves her hands with a flustered expression. Maybe my joke went too far.
"For real, your portions have gotten smaller"? Do you think so?
Gabia hangs her head low with a rather coy expression.
19. Part 19
7 linesGabia sits with her eyes closed. It looks like she's finished eating...
Are you trying to take a nap?
Gabia puffs out her cheeks. She says she was listening to the sounds of the earth. So she was working.
Are you rating today's food?
Gabia smacks her lips. In a dazed state, she begins pondering something deeply.
Leave her alone until she opens her eyes.
After a while, Gabia opens her eyes and looks as if she were grateful for not having been disturbed.
20. Part 20
7 linesGabia brings a strange device. It has "Thought-to-Speech Converter" written on it.
What's that device? Did you buy it from the elves?
Yes.A bid.Extensive.Expensive but.I.got.it.
You bought this because you want to have a more natural conversation?
I.will.also.talk.lots.with.the.M.Master.
You could just write on paper.
With. this. it's.matcha.much cheesy.mu-ch.easy-er!
