Blanchet's Intimacy story
20 scenes, 140 lines
1. Part 1
7 linesMaster, what comes to your mind first when you see roses?
Their splendid appearance.
I guess it's hard to overlook how eye-catching they look.
Passion.
A blue rose may not fit it, but I find myself enchanted by such boundless passion.
A dangerous flower with thorns?
Keep in mind, roses have thorns to protect themselves.
2. Part 2
7 linesThe scripts from your home planet were quite impressive. I heard some elves transcribed them during their captivity.
Amid their suffering, did the elves really have time for that?
It's not surprising that art blooms even in desperate situations.
Oh, won't you perform those scripts?
We will... but it might not be what you expect, Master. The scripts have been adapted to the elven taste.
Sorry, I'm completely ignorant about this stuff, so I don't know what to say.
Then why don't you come watch? If you know nothing, it might actually be more enjoyable.
3. Part 3
7 linesHave you taken the Monatium monorail? It gets incredibly crowded in the morning.
Life in Monatium... feels frighteningly familiar.
The morning monorail... is a battlefield...
Is it okay for a celebrity like you to use public transportation?
Surprisingly, people don't pay much attention on public transport. Though I do sometimes get recognized when I go downtown on weekends...
They say you can get rich if you set up shop near the exit.
...Have you tried that yourself, Master? Please don't take Festa's spot.
4. Part 4
7 linesHmm... this food is... interesting.
I apologize. I'll try harder.
What? I didn't mean anything bad by it...! Was my smile too awkward?
Each dish has its own story.
Do you develop the menu by yourself? That's impressive.
I reject criticism from people who don't know what they're talking about.
One should humbly accept criticism of their work, but I see you fear it.
5. Part 5
7 linesSometimes life feels like a tragedy, doesn't it? When the trials we face seem like a well-crafted plot?
Still, you can rewrite life's script yourself.
Yes. Writing your own happy ending... isn't that beautiful?
That's not a tragedy, you know? It's actually a comedy.
Um.... Isn't it mad to find joy in sadness...?
You need tragedy to truly appreciate happiness.
You mean the contrast effect...? That's quite a convincing perspective.
6. Part 6
7 linesUntil recently, people would become sad just seeing me. I can't forget those memories easily.
But you overcame it in the end. The past is just the past.
Many people helped me. It wasn't just my effort, but the care of others too.
Living off other's sympathy isn't so bad, is it?
...Seriously? While it's natural to fantasize about things you haven't experienced...
I think it's better than being the laughing stock...
Um... you mean that in a good way, right? Master... are you holding back tears right now?
7. Part 7
7 linesI'd like to get closer to my theater companions, maybe I should give them some cookies or something?
Only the weak try to socialize. It's my way or the highway!
What...? I don't see any reason NOT to get closer... Master, you seem a bit scary.
If you want, I'll teach you my baking techniques.
You mean it? I'll pour my heart into learning from Elias' top banquet hall chef!
All you need to get closer to others is sincerity!
Oh really...? Those are some pretty neat words of wisdom. Thanks for the tip!
8. Part 8
7 linesI've been tending to a little garden of my own, and I'm wondering what name might suit it best.
Secret Garden.
Secret Garden...? I'm not really keeping it secret, but it does have a charming ring to it.
Weekend Garden.
You must be joking... I can't tell if I'm supposed to laugh.
Versailles Garden.
That has a familiarity to it... I believe it would suit my roses beautifully.
9. Part 9
7 linesSometimes I've questioned my craft... I've wondered if acting is ultimately just a bunch of lies.
Not all lies are bad.
True. For some, lies can become an ideal or inspire their dreams.
That may be true, but the emotions it conveys are real.
You're right. I believe the essence of acting lies in conveying those emotions.
Lies are an everyday thing... What's the big deal?
Are you calling me a liar? Or do you mean you're the liar, Master...? That's rather unsettling to hear you say...
10. Part 10
7 linesI looked up my name on the Monatium intranet...
...Are you okay?
I suppose ignorance is bliss for certain things in life...
You're quite popular, aren't you? Must be nice to be famous...
...There were plenty of things about you, too, Master. Reading them, I felt the pain as though it were my own...
I doubt they meant anything bad when they said they thought you were a phantom.
Um... I don't remember telling you what any of them said...
11. Part 11
7 linesIt's really hard not to spill food on white clothes...
I figured as much, so I got an apron for you.
Th-Thank you. Do I spill food a lot...?
You'll have to pay extra for your laundry.
I don't spill anything. Table manners were part of my acting practice.
It's fine. Everyone spills a lot.
...You must clean the floor and tables quite often, then?
12. Part 12
7 linesD-Do I have a nice smile on right now?
You look lovely. It really suits you.
Thank you. I practiced a lot before coming.
The effort really shows!
...Doesn't the word "effort" sometimes imply the result wasn't quite there, Master?
A smirk still counts as a smile, right...?
You didn't have to put it that way...
13. Part 13
7 linesWhat if I practiced acting here in the Banquet Hall? There are plenty of folks who could be my scene partners.
Don't talk to others while they're eating.
Was that too inconsiderate of me? I'm sorry...
Just don't practice any horror or action scenes.
R-Really? A tearful, heartbreaking performance is fine though, yes?
What role would I be playing?
I was thinking of doing a mask play. I even brought some masks!
14. Part 14
7 linesWorking as a reenactment actor wasn't half bad. It gave me a rare opportunity to build up my acting experience.
That's a positive attitude.
There were times when I had to think that way just to get through it. It was a long stretch of time.
You were really satisfied with just that?
A whip can drive you to grow. But I think what I needed back then was comfort.
Have you ever thought about playing me?
Y-You, Master? What kind of acting would that involve? A chef?
15. Part 15
7 linesWhat do you think is most important in a performance?
The audience's reaction?
A performance can go on even in front of an unresponsive audience.
A great actor like you!
Thank you for saying that. I'll work hard to become a better actor.
Ticket prices! Money! Scalpers!
It's difficult to separate money from the art of performance, but... it's a little disheartening.
16. Part 16
7 linesCould you make some food for my Blue Bird as well?
There's a separate charge for animals.
D-Does it vary by the size of the animal? I haven't been paid for my performance yet...
Is it okay if it's leftovers?
As long as it's clean, I'd say it's fine. Thank you for looking out for us.
What do... birds eat?
Seeds... no? I thought that was kind of obvious...
17. Part 17
7 linesWhat sort of exercises would help me become a better actor?
Practicing your smile is the best.
I do that often. A smile on stage is something that truly shines.
Practicing your pronunciation is good.
Eleven benevolent elves, eleven benevolent elves, eleven benevolent... ugh, no matter how much I practice this, it never feels like enough.
Go out and try to meet others.
Should I head out to Monatium Avenue and go elf-watching? I don't have many friends...
18. Part 18
7 linesLooks like if you make a sad face all the time, your face starts to take on that sadness permanently.
I've heard facial muscles develop according to how you use them.
If I'd played cheerful roles, would my face have turned into a happy one? Would... that even count as a real smile?
You're not actually sad, are you?
I'm not sad. I had delicious food, so I'm happy.
Then let me fill you with joy.
How romantic...! I'd love to say something like that to someone someday.
19. Part 19
7 linesI love theater. I can use my own expressions to move others' hearts!
Try moving mine. It's completely frozen solid.
A frozen heart needs to be loosened up and made gentle. Keep trying on new emotions.
Try to get some of the critters out of the Banquet Hall.
Eek! I also struggle with uninvited Friends with antennae!
Is there any kind of performance that could draw more guests to the Banquet Hall?
Maybe next time at a street performance, I could mime eating food? I hope it helps.
20. Part 20
7 linesI've been rethinking the importance of friendships. Who should I get close to to improve my acting?
How about Meluna the tycoon?
Hmm, seeing and hearing about the lifestyle of the rich would be a rare opportunity. Though I don't think it'd be easy to become friends.
How about Speaki, the master mimic?
You mean the phantom who's always watching the Sprite Head Priestess? I've heard she's a true master in that respect.
Sometimes solitude is what makes you grow.
I think I've done plenty of acting alone... do I need any more solitude?
