Rudd's Intimacy story
20 scenes, 140 lines
1. Part 1
7 linesConsistent labor is a good way to develop grit and perseverance.
That's easy in Sprite Kingdom. I do it every day.
You can do that just by living here? I should consider immigrating!
I don't necessarily work to develop those...
What value is there in meaningless labor? Just stop now.
Would you like to whip this cream for me then?
Alright! A challenge! What will you do for me if I win?
2. Part 2
7 linesWhy do all races on the surface seem to lack effort...? Maybe it's just me?
Effort is subjective, meaning it's only relative.
Then perhaps I should make it objective and set some standards first? Even though everyone other than me would fall short...
Would you like to give a lecture in front of our worshippers sometime?
If they make the effort to come to the hall where I'll be lecturing, then sure.
You shouldn't look down on them too much. Not everything is what it seems.
You mean they're hiding their power? Thanks for helping me realize. They made me get careless... a lot.
3. Part 3
7 linesWho is the strongest on the surface? I'll defeat them and take their place.
Erpin...? Nah.
Does the word "strongest" have a different meaning up here?
Diana?
Are you talking about that werebeast who always sleeps while standing? Is she truly the strongest?
Elena? What about taking her on?
Where her strength lies isn't really my forte... but perhaps it's worth a try? It might be an opportunity to get stronger.
4. Part 4
7 linesIf I beat you, can I become the Master? Do you have the courage to accept my challenge?
You can't become the Master even if you beat me.
The hierarchy system up here is hard to understand. Even though you have high-ranking and low-ranking individuals, similar to us dragons.
If you're confident, come at me.
You're rather bold. Since you're higher ranking than me, I get to hit you first.
Don't judge the world with such simple logic.
I hope you don't think I'm all brawn and no brains. The way a class society works can be a lot simpler than you think.
5. Part 5
7 linesI'm concerned that no one is challenging Daya. I'm sure she wants to fight too.
Why don't you challenge her?
I already have several times, but I'm no match for her. And besides, she probably wants to fight someone else.
I wonder if they're all waiting for Daya to grow dull and weak?
I guess you could call that a strategy. Are they waiting for her to let her guard down?
Should I challenge her?
Rudd looks me up and down expressionlessly, pretending she didn't hear me.
6. Part 6
7 linesWhat do I do if there's someone I don't like on the surface? It's frustrating that there's no way to challenge anyone.
Did someone say something to rile you up?
There's this one punk who says that my ruby looks like strawberry candy and licks it.
Just hit her. It's more complicated to officially challenge someone.
Is it that simple? Maybe the laws up here aren't so bad after all...
Revenge is a dish best served cold. Try to have a long-term plan.
Shouldn't anger be resolved promptly? Dealing with it later only obscures its significance.
7. Part 7
7 linesWhy does everyone keep asking me to breathe fire when they see me?
It's those little werebeasts following you around after reading their fairy tales, right?
The grown-ups too. I mean, it still feels nice to know that they like me.
Can you spit fire from your mouth? C'mon, show me.
I can certainly shoot a mean right hook if you want...
What about transforming? Do it and let me ride on your back as you fly in the sky!
Transform...? Transform into what? What are you talking about?
8. Part 8
7 linesWhile eating, Rudd suddenly crosses her arms and stares at me. Her face starts to turn red.
What...? Why? Is there something on my face?
Hngh... *Breathes out...* I suddenly felt like holding my breath. Breath-holding can be good for certain exercises, you know...
Stare back at Rudd with eyes open wide.
There is a strange air of tension as the staring contest carries on. It comes to an end when Rudd throws a fake punch that causes me to blink.
Is she asking for something? Let's give Rudd a piece of cake...
Rudd gets angry and throws the cake away. That day, I tremble in fear until closing time.
9. Part 9
7 linesI want to order something that boosts stamina for my fitness training.
Our restaurant only serves the dish of the day, nothing else.
I heard that on the surface, the one who feeds you holds the most power. But does that give them the right to do as they please?
You're a dragon. Does exercising really even increase your stamina?
Training conditions not only your body but also your mind. Training is a meaningful activity in itself.
Is it okay even if it tastes terrible?
Taste doesn't matter as long as it's full of nutrients. *Nom, nom...* Well... maybe... it does matter a little...
10. Part 10
7 linesDon't forget: unwavering dedication will never let you down.
Hard work doesn't always pay off though, does it?
But your body won't forget the sweat you shed in the process of trying.
If I keep training, do you think I can beat you?
...Let's just say, "will never let you down" is up for interpretation.
Yeah, there's nothing more regrettable than giving up halfway.
That's right. If you really make an effort, there'll be no regrets even if you end up failing.
11. Part 11
7 linesThe dragons these days don't put in as much effort as they used to. Hard work is the only way to survive...
Don't you think everyone's trying their best in their own way?
That's nowhere near enough. They're still far from meeting my standards.
Aren't you being too harsh on them?
I've never pressured or forced anyone. In the end, they can do what they want.
They lack grit, pure grit.
Yeah, that's right—what they really need is grit. Now we're finally speaking the same language.
12. Part 12
7 linesGrit is important, but pushing yourself relentlessly without any rest isn't good either.
Hmm... Then should we take a quick break for now?
Taking a break already when you haven't even started training yet? That's not what I meant.
I thought you'd be the type to cut rest short just to keep training.
Even I get tired when I'm tired and need to rest when it's time to rest. It's more efficient that way too.
While you're resting, drop by the Banquet Hall sometimes.
I was actually thinking of doing that. The meals here are quite nutritionally balanced.
13. Part 13
7 linesThe pain you feel after an intense weight training session—that pain makes me stronger.
I know that feeling too.
Hehe, do you have some training experience? Could be nice to work out together sometime.
Why bring pain on yourself if you don't have to?
Hmm... You didn't understand what I meant. Someday you'll be able to feel it.
Then I wonder if Erpin's crown has gotten stronger too?
...Hmm? I'm not sure what you mean. Does the Queen of the Sprite Kingdom do weight training with her crown?
14. Part 14
7 linesA balanced diet is also important for self-improvement. Are you taking good care of yourself?
Don't worry about me.
Hmm, if you say so. I'll trust that you're taking good care of yourself.
I just grab something simple every day.
It might be convenient for now, but you'll definitely regret it later. I recommend making some improvements.
I'd rather you take care of it for me.
Hmm... Then shall we start with some soft, nutrient-rich mineral ore?
15. Part 15
7 linesIsn't there a good way to encourage the dragons to train?
how about you offer them meaningful rewards?
Hmm. Actually, isn't rising in the ranks the best reward for a dragon?
You should leave it up to each of them.
What a wea mindset. For the dragons to grow stronger, you must be more resolute.
I think leading by example should come first.
That's what I'm always doing, but... you're right. I'll put in a little more effort.
16. Part 16
7 linesWarming up is essential before training. Won't you join me?
Sure.
I like how refreshing and straightforward you are. Let's warm up first. We'll start right away.
How do you usually do your warm-up?
Hmm. How about we start with a light jog around the Sprite Kingdom, maybe three laps?
Um... I'm busy working at the Banquet Hall.
I'm not going to force you, but... it's good to always remember that consistent training is a necessity, not a choice.
17. Part 17
7 linesYou should always live with the mindset, that there's nothing that can't be accomplished with grit.
But there are definitely things that can't be done with grit alone.
Of course there are. But aren't there far more things that can be accomplished with grit?
That sounds quite romantic.
I didn't mean it that way, but if you take it positively, that's good.
Is that your motto?
Motto? I suppose it could be, in a way. What's your motto?
18. Part 18
7 linesThat Silphir has been quiet lately. When will she come for another duel?
Are you also waiting to duel Silphir again?
I always win, but she keeps trying different approaches, which makes it interesting.
I heard she's holed up somewhere preparing some kind of secret technique.
Hmm. I'm curious what it might be. Though I'll win anyway.
Fight me today instead.
...You're quite the jokester. I'll let it slide this time, but be careful next time.
19. Part 19
7 linesYou can't get complacent just because you've reached a high position. The higher you climb, the more you need to push yourself.
Are... are you talking about me?
Oh, I didn't mean it that way. But hey, if what I said helps, then great.
Do you do that every day?
Of course. I just say what I live by.
Sometimes you need time to catch your breath too.
Of course you do. I just meant that mindset and self-discipline are what matter most.
20. Part 20
7 linesThere's no such thing as a lucky punch. That's all the result of endless effort too.
What are you talking about all of a sudden?
I took a big hit from Silphir in our last duel. Guess she's been training just as much.
So in the end, she wasn't lucky at all?
In a way, that's right. It'd be better to rename it to Grit Punch or Effort Punch.
So that means if I keep fighting you, I could eventually win?
Didn't you hear what I said? You'd need the effort for that.
