Jade's Intimacy story
20 scenes, 140 lines
1. Part 1
7 linesAre there any more books I can collect? I've collected just about every book there is, so it's hard to satisfy my desire for more.
Greed is insatiable. You should learn when to let go.
What if I don't want to let go? I live for the fun of collecting them. What do I do if I stop?
Why not broaden your scope? Like comic books or films?
I'm not sure if those can be considered knowledge... Hmm... maybe I'm being too restrictive in my thinking?
Why don't you write a new book?
Writing the books I want to collect...? Oh, I think I might develop a new area of interest!
2. Part 2
7 linesI heard that elves have a mineral that glows fluorescent green. I wonder if I can get my hands on it.
I thought you were done collecting green gems?
I can't help it. It's an innate instinct that I can't fully suppress.
Fluorescent green mineral...? Do you mean it's radioact—
What are you talking about? You know that radioactive materials don't really glow green, right?
I'll see what I can do, but I can't make any promises.
Yes, of course! I knew you could do it! Good thing I joined the Order!
3. Part 3
7 linesIf I were to move somewhere else, where would you recommend I go?
Is it hard to live among other dragons?
It's not that it's hard to live there, it's just that we have... well... different tastes? Something like that.
You'd probably get along well with elves who are researchers.
Elves? You think so? Interesting! Okay, I'll keep that in mind.
How about moving next door to a bakery owner with an academic degree?
That self-proclaimed professor of magic must've asked you to say that, huh? She always tries to steal my knowledge!
4. Part 4
7 linesWe should prioritize unifying the writing system of Elias. It's hard to read books like this.
Don't we all speak the same language though?
The spoken language may be the same, but the writing systems all vary. It's like having "written dialects."
I never thought about it because I could understand you all from the beginning, but what's the language here called?
Huh? You didn't know this whole time? It's called the "Ancient Tongue"! It's "ancient" because it was taught to us by the First Human a very long time ago.
You don't have to actually read the books, do you? Just collect them.
Books are worthless if you can't read them! The knowledge the books contain is the real treasure!
5. Part 5
7 linesWho writes these newsletters distributed by the Order? It's full of typos!
So what? It's fine as long as they make sense.
How are you so unapologetic? The rules of writing must be followed so that they can be properly passed down!
I write them.
Ugh...! You're the Master, how can you make those errors?! I'll start giving you grammar lessons from tomorrow!
I have Erpin write them, who claims that Ner had asked her to do it.
Ah, I see... Hmm. Okay, can't do anything about that, then.
6. Part 6
7 linesWhy do the denizens of Elias almost never use proper nouns?
Their brains don't have enough space to remember them.
A convincing, yet somewhat offensive, answer. That doesn't include me, does it?
Because there's no need to? It's okay as long as you know what they mean.
Hmm... Yeah, I guess there's nothing wrong if you understand each other.
Do they have such a thing here?! What are they?
You didn't know? The proper noun for Sprite Kingdom is Erpien, and for the Witch Kingdom, it's Belitein!
7. Part 7
7 linesI'm not sure why, but I don't think accumulating knowledge has anything to do with becoming smart.
It's all about using the right knowledge in the right context.
Yes, you should be able to understand the situation and the context. If you get even a little off-topic, you might start spouting nonsense.
Are you implying you're not that smart?
I-I am smart! I'm talking about someone else! Not me, at all!
It's hard to be recognized for your knowledge if you can't read the room.
But what does "reading the room" actually mean? I wish there were a book on that!
8. Part 8
7 linesEven if I knew that tomorrow Elias would go to pieces...
...I would still plant my apple tree.
Yes, right! It's a great quote. I don't quite understand what it means, but it's a great quote, nonetheless.
...You can sell your house and start over.
So you sell your old house and get a new one... something like that? I guess it kinda makes sense like that.
...What can you do about it?
Nothing. It'll be so over for us.
9. Part 9
7 linesHave you ever heard the saying, "Without reading daily, the mind withers"?
Then your mind must never wither.
Hehe, you know me, huh? My mind will never wither!
If that were true, all sprites would have withered brains, wouldn't they?
Hmm, I guess you're right. How disappointing.
Why are you staring at my head like that?
What about your mind, Master? Any withering there? I'd like to see inside!
10. Part 10
7 linesThere's no room for more books in my cave. What should I do?
Throw out some books.
No! Each and every book is part of my precious library! I could never throw them away! Rejected!
How about using the books you don't read to create new bookshelves?
Oooh... building bookshelves out of books? Then place other books in them...? Not bad!
You'll have to dig further into the cave and expand your space.
Urgh, I hate physical labor. I wish someone would dig for me while I read. Master? Hmm?
11. Part 11
7 linesI heard that knowledge should be shared. Should I open my library to the public? I don't want to though...
If you open it, you'll be plagued with complaints.
I'm already busy reading books, and now I have to handle complaints too? It's better not to let anyone in.
Good thinking. I'll come visit every day.
While you're at it, you'll help organize the stacks and clean too, right? That's a promise!
Will there really be users who'd go all the way there?
If you want to gain knowledge, you have to be prepared to take the difficult path! You are weak-willed.
12. Part 12
7 linesCan you recommend some snacks that are good to eat while reading?
I recommend hard candy, it doesn't get your hands dirty.
Hard candy is the best! Speaking of which, try stocking up on various dragon candies. Green grape flavor is my favorite!
How about reading while enjoying a full-course meal?
Take a bite and turn a page? Sounds fun, but I'd fall asleep while reading.
Do you want to feed your body while feeding your mind?
If both your body and mind are full, isn't that twice as good? This what they call "killing two birds with one stone!"
13. Part 13
7 linesWhy aren't there any books in the Banquet Hall? Don't you serve food for the mind?
Would you like to read a cookbook I wrote myself?
Yeah. Let me see it. ...Ugh! This is a lot of sugar! Are you out of your mind, Master?
I left several books out, but someone ate them all.
Did you make books into baked goods? How could you possibly eat books?
They're useful as firewood when cooking.
The book I lent you last time, don't tell me... Put out that fire right now! I said put it out!
14. Part 14
7 linesI heard from the Sprite Kingdom that they want me to work as a picture diary inspector. What do you think?
While we're at it, want to inspect mine too?
Oh? You seem pretty confident in your writing skills, Master. You're paying the inspection fee, right?
I think they appointed you as a plagiarism specialist.
Plagiarism requires some background knowledge to pull off, so I don't think you need to worry about that.
I always put it off so there won't be anything to inspect, right?
Oh. What a sweet gig! I should apply right away and live the good life!
15. Part 15
7 linesWhen multiple people write a book together, don't fights break out? Even when I read alone, there are fights going on in my head.
That's exactly why books that gather multiple opinions are valuable.
Talking to other dragons is already exhausting, and now we have to debate too. Writing books is really hard work.
Is there another you in your head?
Huh? When you read books, don't you get as many egos as there are characters? That's why I was so tired after reading "101 Spotted Dragons."
The one who wins the fight gets to write everything down.
So strength is important for writing books too. But is getting to write everything a punishment or a reward?
16. Part 16
7 linesElves read books on those weird little devices. Books should have weight to them to be worth collecting.
You want a device too?
D-did you catch me... No, it's not that I really want one. I just thought it'd be nice as a souvenir if someone gave me one! Hehe.
The weight of books enriches the soul.
That's right. Heavy books press down on each other so the pages don't curl up! It's so convenient.
It'd be even better if we made all books out of stone.
Why are you so extreme, Master? Want to get smacked with a rock?
17. Part 17
7 linesThe elves keep digging underground, so dust keeps falling from the library ceiling. Master, please stop them!
They're giving me a headache too.
Huh, the Banquet Hall ceiling too? Are you doing something about the dust getting into the food?
When dust falls, you just clean it up.
Do you think you know how painful it is when dust accumulates on a well-cleaned bookshelf? Will you clean it for me instead?!
We should build a new library on the mountain.
Books need to be stored at the proper temperature and humidity! I don't have the energy to build a new library...
18. Part 18
7 linesWhen different books say different things, which one should I believe?
You can believe whichever one you want.
Right? I read in a book today that you are going to buy me ten books?
Read more books and make up your own mind.
You want me to create a third opinion? I just like observing other's thoughts.
The newer the book, the more trustworthy it seems.
One book came out 30 years ago and another 45 years ago, so I'm not sure if comparing which is newer really matters.
19. Part 19
7 linesI want to read quietly, but the noise from upstairs is too loud. Do you know how to reduce it?
Solve it through dialogue.
When I go up there, she's always swinging around a huge greatsword, so I'm too scared to say anything. Ugh.
Get some earplugs.
That's not a bad idea... If I ask Sist, she'll probably get excited and recommend some...
Go read your neighbor a book.
If we read together, it'll be quiet while we do it, right? Sounds like a good plan!
20. Part 20
7 linesI'm curious about books by other races. Do you have any recommendations?
Here's a chow gourmet guide.
Oh, something written by werebeasts? ...No? Huh? Why would she write something like this?
Elena published an autobiography.
I already read that. If you go to the Elf dump, you'll find piles of them stacked up like mountains. I heard it's required reading in Monatium.
There are some papers published by witches.
The taste of fried carrots changes depending on what music you play while frying them...? They publish this kind of thing as a paper?
