Scottie and Blue were training together.

In [EN:Gen Ref="255" M="his" F="her" ] enthusiasm, Scottie trained a little too hard and pushed [EN:Gen Ref="255" M="himself" F="herself" ] to the point of exhaustion.

Blue

C'mon, Scottie! You outta gas already?

Hah! You need to work on your endurance!

Collector

Excuse me. If I'm not mistaken, you're the Kanto Champion, Blue, yes?

Lass

Please battle us! We're going to beat you!

Blue

Hey now. My time as the Champion of Kanto was pretty short-lived, y'know.

But sure, why not! Let's make it a tag-team match, though!

Scottie somehow mustered the energy to get up and join Blue for the battle.

Blue

Don't just react to what your opponent does! Read their movements and act before they do!

Wait! Now you're getting ahead of yourself!

Watch and learn! This is how a Pokémon battle should be fought!

Oh man! That was way too close! We almost lost!

This sygna suit I'm wearing may have been what saved us.

The design of my sygna suit is based on Blastoise.

The design of my sygna suit is based on Blastoise.

It lets me fight in battles as if I've become Blastoise myself.

We were in a tight spot just now. In situations like that, I feel like my sygna suit gives me a boost to help me power through.

I never noticed that before! I should probably thank those two sync pairs for helping me see it!

I bet that battle was a good experience for you, too, huh?

I bet that battle was a good experience for you, too, huh?

Giving everything you've got when you're already running on empty is hands down the best way to train.

That's how we've always done it, after all.

Blastoise and I have overcome a lot of tough situations over the years.

Blastoise and I have overcome a lot of tough situations over the years.

There were lots of times when I felt so beat down, physically and mentally, that I didn't think I could keep going.

But being in those tough situations would always fire me up. And the joy I felt when we overcame them was like nothing I'd ever felt before.

Know what I mean? You gotta cherish the good times and the bad times that you spend with your Pokémon.

That will help strengthen your bonds with your partner Pokémon. It'll give you strength and courage, too.

Blastoise used to immediately retreat into his shell at the first sign of things going south.

But now he's exactly the opposite. When things get tough, he cranes his neck as far out as he can to get a good view of the situation.

I'm not just telling you my life story here, OK? I want you two to learn from this and get stronger as well.

Thanks. But now it's your turn to get stronger.

Blastoise and I are working to become the strongest sync pair so we can beat Red...

but it'd be boring for us if all you future generations of Trainers didn't get stronger, too!

And I guess I don't really mind teaching people, either.

I'm better at it than Red is, anyway.

I can't even imagine him teaching anything to anyone.

Anyway, I hope you're ready, 'cause I've got even more intense training coming your way!

It's time to get serious! We're not done until I say we are!
