A Day with Iris

Hey there! How's it going, Scottie?

I just had a battle with that Trainer!

Yeah! I feel like I understand dragon Pokémon even better now, thanks to that battle!

Of course! And I learned a lot about my opponent's Kingdra, so it was super helpful!

People say that I'm the girl who knows the hearts of dragons, but there's still a lot I don't know.

That's why I keep battling a bunch of different people, so I can understand dragon Pokémon better!

If I don't improve, I could end up repeating what happened to me before. I definitely want to avoid that!

Well...

Well...it's kind of a long story.

Did I ever tell you this before?

Before I became Champion, Grandpa Drayden asked me if I wanted to try raising Deino.

And I said, "Yes, of course!" and started living together with Deino right off the bat!

But once she evolved into Hydreigon, she stopped listening to me!

My Hydreigon is known as a Brutal Pokémon. She's super strong and likes to rage out!

So we used to fight a lot, and we went through some rough times...

But then, Grandpa Drayden saw us struggling to get along and asked me if I wanted to give up trying to raise her.

I said no way, of course!

*chuckle* Exactly!

If you fight, all you have to do is make up! And even more importantly, I wanted us to be together!

So it took some time, but I talked to Hydreigon a lot...and that's how we became friends with each other!

Now you can even say we're best friends!

And I think I understand why Grandpa Drayden gave me Deino! It was all a test.

What's important is to keep on trying and never give up!

That's not only true for Pokémon, it also applies to Trainers!

When you have a battle with someone, it helps you understand how they think!

That's why I wanna keep battling a lot of different sync pairs!

I also wanna learn more about you, too!
