I bring Kommo-o and Garchomp here often so they can do some sparring and compare their strength.

Actually, since you're here, I ought to give you two a proper introduction!

This is Kommo-o. He and I partner up when I change into this sygna suit.

I raised him from an Egg I received in Alola.

That's right! He's come a long way. He hatched from that Egg as a little Jangmo-o, and now two evolutions later, just look at him!

Not in the slightest.

It's been such a joy to watch him grow into the Pokémon he is today.

It's hard to believe you were once that little Jangmo-o that used to struggle in our training sessions. You've come a long way since then!

He's been competing with Garchomp from the moment he hatched.

Their rivalry ran as deep as their bond. Not a day went by without him challenging Garchomp to a battle.

And if I remember right, he would lose every time.

Sounds like Kommo-o wants me to stop dredging up the past. Hehe! Such a sore loser, this one.

Once he evolved into Kommo-o, though, that's when he really began to hold his own against Garchomp.

Then one day, the sygna suit designer saw Kommo-o and offered to make an outfit for me to wear with him.

From that moment, I decided I would take on the PML wearing this sygna suit, with Kommo-o at my side.

He's earned it! He's the gutsiest Pokémon I know.

Yes, indeed. I want to take on new challenges with him as my partner, and I have no doubt that he'll live up to my expectations.

But when I decided to partner up with Kommo-o, one thought did cross my mind...

Namely, what about Garchomp?

On Pasio, the Pokémon that inspires a Trainer's sygna suit is meant to be their ace. Losing a battle while wearing a sygna suit is unacceptable.

And for me, a Pokémon League Champion, that's especially true. So why did I not choose Garchomp when she's fought by my side for so long?

In the end, Kommo-o's example is what made me change my mind.

As a Champion, I have a reputation to maintain. But if I played it safe just to defend my reputation, I'd be depriving myself of so many possibilities.

If I stopped taking risks because I was afraid of losing face, what example would I be setting for other Trainers?

Certainly not one that befits a Champion!

A good Champion is prepared to face any and all challenges without fear of defeat!

Like a little Jangmo-o challenging a full-grown Garchomp to battle every day!
