If you were watching, then you must've noticed that I'm not exactly in top form.

I've been wanting to do some serious Pokémon battling ever since I came to Pasio. Things haven't been going too well, though.

I've learned a lot about Pokémon since I got here, so you'd think that I'd be doing better. Truth is, though, I'm not.

Take Yamper, for example. I've spent so much time researching them, and I know loads about them now.

So why haven't Yamper and I been in sync? Did you notice anything during our battle just then?

What? Well, what about Yamper?

Hm... Now that you mention it, I think you might be on to something. But why?

... ... ...

I get it now! I've got to stop thinking about the Yamper in the Pokédex and start thinking about my Yamper right here in front of me!

I was so caught up in Pokémon research that I wasn't paying attention to my actual Pokémon.

No wonder we couldn't get in sync.

Yeah, that makes perfect sense! Ha! Now I feel like I could take on anyone and win!

So whaddya say? Wanna have a battle?

Watching Yamper play brings back memories from the Gym Challenge back in Galar.

Back then, there was a young boy who went around with me and did the Challenge.

And where's that little boy now? Now they call him "Leon, the unbeatable Champion."

Looking at you, I get a similar sort of feeling. You might just become a Champion, too!

You've definitely got the same sense of confidence that Leon has!

That's the spirit! I suppose if I'm gonna aim high, I might as well aim for the stars!
