Scottie was exploring a cave when [EN:Gen Ref="255" M="he" F="she" ] spotted Cynthia standing with Lucario. Cynthia's eyes were closed.

This is part of my training.

I'm training. Heh heh, did you think I was just taking a rest?

I face Lucario with a clear mind in order to train mentally, in addition to working on my strength and moves.

Lucario is able to sense the auras of all things and can read his opponents' thoughts.

Of course, I could never hope to attain that mental state myself...

But if I train mentally and concentrate during battle, I might be able to understand at least some of my opponents' thoughts and goals...

So that's why I'm training like this.

I just hope it can bring me even one step closer to Lucario, who can freely manipulate auras.

I'll admit, though, that when we first met, I really struggled with those auras.

But now Lucario and I have known each other for quite a long time.

Ever since... Yes, I was still a new Trainer traveling around the Sinnoh region.

Lucario was still Riolu at the time.

When I met him, he was already able to sense the feelings of others.

It was pretty difficult to become close at first, because he could see right through to the very depths of my heart.

Since he could see even my greatest flaws...

I felt vulnerable and ashamed.

But...as our bond grew and he evolved into Lucario...

I started to view that as our greatest weapon.

Even knowing every last secret within my heart and mind...

Lucario is still willing to help me and battle by my side. I can't imagine a more reliable partner.

During our travels through Sinnoh, and when we visited other regions afterward...

Lucario and I faced all manner of challengers... and together, we were victorious!

I'm sure it will be the same in the future.

Lucario will always be my dear, precious partner.

Yes, I think he probably is.

I'm sure he is.

Lucario can always tell if someone is lying.

But it's not just Lucario who can do that.

If you lie to a Pokémon, it'll always see right through you.

So whenever you interact with a Pokémon, don't forget to face it honestly and openly, and to show it how much you love it!
