A Day with May

One day, Scottie encountered Sabrina and May having a Pokémon battle in the woods.

Oh, really? So you only saw part of the battle, then.

I see, you were letting us focus on the battle.

Although...it was more of Sabrina helping me train than it was a battle.

She seems really interested in Latias's ability to read my emotions.

So I asked her to have a battle with me.

When Latias and I first formed a sync pair, we never really sought out battles.

Yeah! My Latias has always loved hanging out and having fun with me!

I wouldn't say that. We just started out more like playmates or friends.

I met Latias one day while I was taking a break from doing fieldwork.

I was feeding the Pokémon some candies called Pokéblocks and playing with them when Latias approached me.

Latias don't usually appear in front of people, but this one seems to be curious by nature.

The more we played together, the deeper our friendship became.

But when I battled with my other Pokémon, I noticed that Latias would always stare at me.

I started wondering why that could be... Then it hit me.

Latias was trying to use her telepathy to tell me she wanted to battle, too!

Since then, we've sought out all sorts of Pokémon battles together!

No, it's not exactly telepathy.

I can't really understand what she's saying...

But I can understand Latias's thoughts.

Even without using telepathy, I think I know exactly how she feels.

Chatting is nice and all, but battling sounds way more fun!
