A Day with Sidney

As Scottie was walking around town, [EN:Gen Ref="255" M="he" F="she" ] came across Sidney and a street thug having a Pokémon battle.

Heh, that was fun! You really got us good! That Absol of yours really came in like a disaster, as they say...

Oh, come on. Don't tell me you actually believe those superstitions!

Hahaha! Nah, I'm just kiddin' with ya.

Only old fogies still believe that stuff. Anyways, gotta go! See ya.

You must've heard what we were talking about, huh?

So you overheard that... I guess that would be alarming to hear. "Disaster" is a pretty loaded word, after all...

Y'see, there's this superstition about Absol. People used to believe that it brought disasters.

Reason being, natural disasters like earthquakes and tidal waves would always happen whenever it appeared.

But actually, Absol can sense incoming disasters with their horn, and they would come down from the mountains to warn people.

Ain't that right, buddy? That's actually how the two of us met!

A while back, I was up in the mountains when Absol came outta nowhere and tried to chase me outta there!

At the time, I thought he was dangerous, so I fought back with my own Pokémon. But he just wouldn't budge.

Eventually, he drove us all the way down the mountain.

And right when we left, there was a huge avalanche on that mountain! I nearly jumped outta my skin!

When things calmed down, this guy tried to go back into the mountains like it was nothing.

As I was watching him walk away, I realized I wanted to team up with him.

Well, because he was so cool! It sent shivers down my spine!

Yeah! But I didn't just want to rely on him... I wanted to let him know I can support him, too!

My partner is strong. No matter what anyone says about him or how badly he's misunderstood, he never wavers in his beliefs.

Guys who have something to believe in are strong. That's why we put our all into enjoying battles.

As long as I'm with Absol, there's never a dull moment!

I also can't deny the fact that we're pretty similar. People used to call me a delinquent back in the day.

Right? I'm not one to talk clichés, but it really was destiny that we met.

Yeah! You can search far and wide, but you'll never find a partner as strong and reliable as him!

No matter what anyone says about us, we'll never back down. Our will is strong.

We know that's the most important thing to believe! And we're gonna keep on pushing forward!
