Scottie was walking through town when [EN:Gen Ref="255" M="he" F="she" ] heard Volkner shouting nearby.

Volkner

Hey, Luxray! Stop trying to pull me away!

I just want to look inside! I promise I'll put it back the way it was!

Oh, hello there. I was just trying to take a look at this machine, but Luxray stopped me.

Unfortunately, no. I just wanted to get a better look at this machine here.

I tried to do something similar back when I first arrived on Pasio, and one of the scientists here really gave me an earful.

I assume that's why Luxray is trying to stop me.

But I'm so interested in the technology they used to create such an enormous artificial island that I just can't help myself.

I just want to peek under the hood and see how it all works. That's not renovating anything, is it?

Lass

Oh, come on! Of all the times for this to happen!

I'm in a real pinch, that's what's wrong!

Something bad! Really bad!

Our microwave at the cafe broke, and now it's taking forever to prep for lunch.

Volkner

You don't say? Well, it just so happens that I'm quite good at renova, er, repairs. Maybe I can be of assistance.

Lass

Really?! Thank you! The cafe is over this way!

Volkner

A job well done. Oh, hello again, Scottie. Were you waiting for me to finish?

Of course. It was a shockingly easy fix. One of the parts had simply gotten knocked loose.

Yes. One of the parts had gotten knocked loose, which was causing the microwave to malfunction. Shockingly easy fix, really.

Luxray has the ability to see through all kinds of objects, you know. So I was able to see what needed to be fixed, no problem.

It sure would be helpful if he'd use that ability to help me renovate, uh, I mean, carefully analyze the machines on Pasio, too.

But on the bright side, I've been renovating so many complex machines lately that fixing a simple kitchen appliance was a nice change of pace.

Stuff like that helps me remember why I got into renovating machines in the first place.

It's good to remember your roots. That's true even of Pokémon battles.

There was a time when I had nearly forgotten how to enjoy Pokémon battles.

But then I battled this one Trainer, and it was like I could suddenly remember why I enjoyed them so much.

After that, I decided I wanted the Trainers I face to enjoy Pokémon battles just as much as I do.

I think Luxray really enjoys battles, too.

No matter how tired or sleepy he is, when it's time to battle, it's like a switch flips on inside him.

The two of us will never stop having fun, shocking battles!
