I was training myself to detect Drifblim when he's hiding his presence.

It's something we practice often back at the Ecruteak Gym. I just close my eyes and try to sense where he is.

It's part of my training to become a truly powerful Trainer, the kind spoken of in Ecruteak's tales of yore.

I believed in those tales, so I have secretly trained in the Ecruteak Gym all my life.

Every now and then, I'd leave Ecruteak City and visit other places, but always with the ultimate goal of furthering my training!

At first, I was caught off guard by how free he is.

Back at my Gym, there are Pokémon that have been with me even longer than Drifblim has, like my Gengar, for instance.

But I decided to enter the PML with Drifblim so we could get to know each other better.

Coming to Pasio has given us the chance to meet you and other interesting sync pairs, not to mention see whole new landscapes.

Travel and adventure impart valuable life lessons.

There are some things you'll never get to see unless you get out there and travel...

but on the other hand, there are some things you can only see by being a Gym Leader and taking on challengers!

In fact, I'd say there are pearls of wisdom everywhere that can steer you toward being a true Trainer!

And not just in battle, but in everyday life, too!

I hope deepening my bond with Drifblim will help me find those pearls of wisdom!
