Baby's plans to turn all living beings into Tuffles ended in failure, thanks to the efforts of Goku and friends. Earth enjoyed peace and security once more. It was on one such peaceful day that Trunks was invited to dinner at Goku's.

With Goku out of the picture, Gero, Myuu, Hell Fighter #17, and a multitude of resurrected villains had begun a full-scale siege on Earth. The planet was facing an unprecedented crisis... Would the world's protectors be able to fulfill their duty without the help of their strongest champion...?

With Hell and Earth now joined, powerful foes from beyond launched a diabolical offensive against the land of the living. The chaos spread to Krillin's abode, spurring him and his family to evacuate to safety. But would they find it...?

With Baby out of the way, I thought we'd finally have some peace and quiet.

What in tarnation's happening now? I can't make heads nor tails of this mess!

After defeating #18, the old #17 was led by the new to Gero and Myuu. The mad scientists' plan for vengeance was about to enter its final phase...

As per #17's foretelling, droves of miscreants from Hell's depths rose to wreak havoc across the planet. But Earth's warriors would not stay silent. Hoping to curb the invasion, they bravely took to the battlefield...

Super #17 dominated Vegeta with power, the likes of which had never been seen. But then, with the help of Piccolo and Dende, Goku made a miraculous return from Hell, just in time to save Vegeta from his mortal predicament.

I'll take it from here, Vegeta!

Welcome back from Hell, Goku. You're the last person I was expecting to see.

Heh! It'll take more than Hell to hold me.

The fierce clash between Goku and Super #17 sent tremors throughout the planet. During the battle, Goku came to a stunning realization: his Ki blasts were being absorbed to augment Super #17's power! Even Super Saiyan 4 Goku's 10x Kamehameha was consumed by the android menace.

Unable to use Ki blasts against the fearsome Super #17, Goku was pushed against the ropes until he could no longer maintain his Super Saiyan 4 form, returning to normal. Was this to be the end for our hero...?

Nrrrgh...!

K-Killed... Krillin?!

While watching #18 battle it out, Goku noticed a fatal flaw in Super #17's methods: absorbing Ki blasts left the android wide open! Capitalizing on this small but welcome chance at victory, Goku bet everything on his final offensive...

Fire away all you want. You'll only feed my power.

Fool! Why widen the already staggering gap between us?

#17 was being controlled by Gero and Myuu to realize their twisted ambitions. He's not at fault.

Also, I have a feeling he knew.

Those mad doctors hijacked #17's mind and forced him do all those horrible things.

But even in that state, he couldn't go all out against his twin sister.

But, I think it's one we'd all prefer to agree on, no?

In spite of impossible odds, Goku proved victorious against the formidable Super #17. As for the remaining escapees from Hell, they were defeated by Goku with help from his friends and sent back to where they belong.

As for the final matter of undoing the damage caused by the invasion, including Krillin's revival, Goku and company once more set out to gather the Dragon Balls. All thought a lasting peace had finally been won. Unfortunately, that was not the case...
