Thus, Master Shen succeeded in convincing the emperor to summon Shenron. With no time to waste, the troops of the Mifan Empire set out across the world in search of the elusive Dragon Balls... Little did anyone realize, however, that this was the first step in Master Shen's diabolical plot...

Goku and Krillin arrived in the Mifan Empire to enter the tournament. But in no time at all, they met a boy and his father who were being chased by Mifan soldiers.

According to Bora and his son Upa, the people of their village had been suffering at the hands of the empire's soldiers, who were searching for the Dragon Balls. It turned out that Bora and Upa were in possession of the only Dragon Ball not yet in the army's possession.

Horrible... To think they'd kill anyone who's managed to find a Dragon Ball...

What in the world could they be planning...?

The emperor is still young. I don't think he is responsible for these atrocities...

If we win this tournament, we can ask the emperor to save everyone!

You still need to win the tournament, though. It's not gonna be easy.

Well, I suppose that's true.

Whoever managed to win the tournament would be able to have one request granted by the emperor! Goku and Krillin promised to fight in order to make Bora's wish a reality. Finally, the day of the tournament had arrived.

Miraculously, the Four-Star Dragon Ball hidden under Goku's shirt saved him from certain death. Vowing to defeat Mercenary Tao, Goku rose to face him once more!

With this devastatingly strong female fighter at his side, Goku was able to defeat the wicked Mercenary Tao! However, this was not the end of the perils facing the Mifan Empire! Goku still had to stop Master Shen's evil scheme before it was too late!

Just as Goku was clashing with Mercenary Tao in Penguin Village... Master Roshi and Krillin were fighting to protect the Mifan Empire from impending danger.

They fought bravely, knocking down one Mifan soldier after another... However, soon enough, Tien stood before Master Roshi and the others.

That's as far as you go. I won't allow you to cause any more trouble.

Why is a talented man such as yourself hanging around the likes of Shen?

Th-That's none of your business!

Slander Master Shen again and I will make sure you regret it!

Oh? And how do you expect to do that?

Thanks to Tien coming to his senses, along with Goku's timely return, Master Shen's foul plot was put to an end. Peace, it seemed, had returned to the Mifan Empire. And so...
