Vegeta's Demise?! The Secret of Planet Potaufeu

Trunks and Goten once again found themselves knee-deep in trouble, this time they snuck onto Monaka's delivery ship while he was out making his rounds. The duo was then whisked far away from Earth, touching down on a strange planet.

Where are we?

Planet Potaufeu.

Potaufeu? Never heard of that one.

Good for you! Anyway, I have a schedule to keep.

Ooh, ooh! Can we tag along? Pretty please?

Coward! Get back here!

I can see you kids are anything but ordinary.

I was so stunned I forgot to breathe.

Aw, that was nothing! You could throw a hundred guys just like him at us and we'd STILL cream 'em!

On that note... Who was he, anyway?

A real ruffian. Goes by the name of Gryll. He's out to exploit the secret power of Potaufeu.

This secret power was a substance called the "Superhuman Water". Legend had it those who drank this miraculous liquid would have their strength increased hundreds of times over. Year upon year, Potage had kept vigilant watch over the seal containing the substance, until...

Gwoooargh!

Gryll, enticed by hopes of an exponential power boost, broke the Superhuman Water's seal. In doing so, he attained his prize, but not quite in the way he had anticipated...

According to legend, one sip of the Superhuman Water would grant strength beyond measure. However, upon attaining the prize he so sought, something odd happened to Gryll... It was then a mysterious entity appeared before our pint-sized heroes.

The heck?

Is it just me or did he, um... Change?

Meanwhile... Potaufeu was about to get livelier. Having caught on to Trunks and Goten's absence, Bulma sent Vegeta, along with Jaco, to bring them back in.

The rumors of the Superhuman Water's strength-enhancing properties were just that, rumors. In reality, the substance was a weapon developed by Potaufeu's inhabitants for protection. Its true name: "Commeson".

Commeson had the power to sap the abilities of whoever it touched, transforming into a perfect copy. In the course of its use, however, the evil powers absorbed from Potaufeu's many enemies gave rise to a malicious consciousness.

Though created in the spirit of self-defense, the copy-creating Commeson was now corrupted. Such was the sad truth behind the so-called "Superhuman Water". The people of Potaufeu had no choice but to seal the dangerous substance away. And so, for over a hundred years it had lain concealed from the light of day...

We have to contain the Commeson once more, no matter the cost!

Those who fell prey to the Commeson were fated to die... The only way to defy that fate was to defeat the copy! ...A task easier said than done, as the copy was the Saiyan prince in every imaginable way.

Fu...sion! Ha!

Feast your eyes on Super Gotenks 3!

Meanwhile, Goku was training on King Kai's Planet when he sensed the surge of Ki from the unfolding battle.

Gotenks made a valiant stand against Duplicate Vegeta. Alas, still no match for the copy, he was quickly defeated, ending the fusion.

It seemed this was the end of the line for our heroes. But then, without a split-second to spare, Goku appeared via Instant Transmission!

Dad, beat the purple one! And do it fast!

Yeah, what Goten said! 'Cause if you don't, my dad's done for!

The fierce battle between Goku and Duplicate Vegeta raged on... All the while, the real Vegeta's power continued to be siphoned away by the Commeson. In mere minutes, the prince would be but a memory...

Though a long shot, defeating Vegeta's copy was not the only solution. Destroying the Commeson core would save him as well. In a twist of sheer luck, Monaka succeeded in des- troying the core. Bereft of his power, Duplicate Vegeta faded into nothingness.

Thank you, Monaka. Thank you!

Because of you, Superhuman Water is sealed away once more!

And so, the nightmare of the Commeson now safely behind them, our heroes returned home, triumphant. The true showdown between the two Saiyan rivals, Goku and Vegeta, was to be saved for another day...
