They should be landing in this area...

Even the revived Frieza was no match for Super Saiyan Goku... Peace then prevailed for a while at least... But soon, Goku fell sick and died... This is the story of another future.

Goku is dead... Everyone kept their sorrow hidden away and for a while peace prevailed. Then, six months later... two demons showed up on the South Island...

They were Android #17 and Android #18, developed by Dr. Gero, formerly of the Red Ribbon Army.

The androids had killed Dr. Gero, and were now monsters who took pleasure in destroying and spreading fear throughout the world.

...However, the fighters on Earth couldn't just stand there and watch all of this destruction take place. Here, too...

Piccolo knocked out Gohan and went to challenge the androids alone. However, he was helpless against them, and succumbed to defeat.

The Dragon Balls disappeared after Piccolo's death. Without them, no one can come back to life anymore...

Android #17 and #18 continued their destructive rampage... But here too, there was still someone left to face them.

Darn it... Kakarot!

Why did you have to die like that?!

Vegeta is dead... Yamcha... Tien... and Krillin follow... And so, 13 years passed by...

It's been 13 years since the deaths of Piccolo and Vegeta... The grown Gohan and Vegeta's son Trunks trained together and often challenged the androids...

Gohan knocked Trunks out and headed off alone to face the androids. He left just one small hope behind...

Trunks finally became a Super Saiyan. But... the price paid was far too high. And so, three more years passed by...

And so, Trunks boarded the time machine, and headed back in time... ...where yet another battle was waiting.

Thanks to the medicine that Trunks brought back, Goku was saved. But this meant that history was about to change and a new future was about to begin.

Cell came from the future to absorb Android #17 and #18, and achieve his perfect form. The history that Trunks knew, was about to change drastically...

I... I want to train with my dad.

In order to face this unprecedented danger, Trunks and his father Vegeta, decided to train in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.

...However, the Vegeta that Trunks had envisioned was very different from the father that stood before him...

Vegeta and Trunks finished training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, and now they faced Cell. But during the battle, Cell changed into his perfect form...

In his perfect form, Cell managed to corner Vegeta and was about to deliver the final blow... But all of a sudden, a full-powered Trunks stood before Cell.

Even if your power increases, it will slow down your speed. Cell pointed out the errors in Trunks' transformation.

Trunks lost his will to fight and accepted defeat... But, having seen Trunks' sudden power increase, Cell became curious and made a suggestion.

Cell then stated that if no one could defeat him during the tournament, he would kill everyone on Earth. And so ten days went by...

The fated day of the Cell Games arrived. Goku was the first to fight Cell, but he unexpectedly backed down. Goku then appointed his son, Gohan, to fight Cell...

Gohan's fury was explosive, and he overpowered Cell. The cornered Cell tried to detonate himself, and the whole of Earth. Just when they thought it was all about to end...

This is the only way I can save Earth and everyone on it...

Goku took the detonating Cell using his Instant Transmission... Everyone thought that thanks to Goku's sacrifice Earth was saved and that Cell was dead, but they were wrong...

Heh heh heh... Who was hit? Trunks?

After the detonation, Cell regenerated himself from leftover cells... and attained an even more perfect state than before. He killed Trunks, and then tried to annihilate Earth and all its inhabitants.

Nooo!!!

HAAA!

Goku and Gohan's filial bond produced the biggest Kamehameha of all time, and Cell was, finally defeated...

Trunks was later revived using the power of the Dragon Balls. With the battle over, the warriors went their separate ways, with Goku in all of their hearts. And then...

After the battle in the past, Trunks was finally able to feel his father's love... Trunks said goodbye to his friends and boarded the time machine to return to the future...

Mom! I'm home!

After saying goodbye to his father and friends in the past, Trunks returned to the future by the time machine. This world was still terrorized by Androids #17 and #18.

I see... So Goku died anyway...

But... Gohan avenged his death...

Yes, and my father wasn't just a cold person after all...

When I was killed by Cell, he got really angry.

After a long battle in the past, Trunks was reunited with his mother Bulma. It was then that he heard on the radio, that the androids were causing havoc in the city...
