Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero (2022)

Long, long ago, there existed an evil organization known as the Red Ribbon Army. Under the leadership of Commander Red, they sought to conquer the world, but their plans were thwarted by one remarkable boy by the name of Goku.

The brilliant scientist Dr. Gero managed to escape, whereupon he created androids and the ultimate bio-weapon, Cell, and once again challenged Goku and company to battle. But he was doomed to fail once more.

However, Commander Red's son Magenta sought to rebuild the army. Magenta knew that Dr. Hedo, grandson of the late Dr.Gero, was an even greater genius than his grandfather, so he planned to use him to exact vengeance on Goku and his friends before conquering the world...

I seek to create the ultimate android.

Wonderful! You and I want exactly the same thing!

And so Dr. Hedo joined forces with Magenta and commenced development on the universe's ultimate android. The New Red Ribbon Army's quest for vengeance was quietly beginning to take shape...

Sometime later... In a lush mountainous region far from the big city, a little girl was training with Piccolo...

Good morning, Piccolo!

Yeah, I'm fine!

I was wondering, Piccolo...

Is it really true that Papa could be even stronger than Grandpa if he wanted to be?

It's kinda hard to imagine Papa in a fight, though.

Really?

Okay! See you after school!

Piccolo and Pan spent their days in tranquility. They had yet to realize the looming threat posed by the New Red Ribbon Army...

After seeing off Pan, Piccolo focused on his solo training. However, a surprise attack by a mysterious enemy shattered the silence!

It's over!

Even Piccolo was no match for the incredibly powerful android that had appeared out of nowhere. Believing Piccolo to be thoroughly defeated, the android left the scene. However, by the skin of his teeth, Piccolo had managed to survive his onslaught...

And so Piccolo went after the android. Infiltrating a mysterious base, he learned of the Red Ribbon Army's resurrection...

He also learned that the android who had attacked him was named Gamma 2, and that there was another android just like him named Gamma 1. Even worse, he saw with his own eyes Cell Max, an enhanced android that had been created by re- constructing Cell's old data.

He's a monstrous creation that far surpasses the old Cell.

He'll be perfect for showing off the Red Ribbon's might.

But there's no telling what might happen if we unleash him in this state.

What is it?

If we can't control him, he may well destroy the very world you're trying to conquer.

Rrrgh...

No need to use Cell Max. The Gammas can take care of our enemies.

Once that's done, we can activate Cell Max to show the world your power.

...Can I take you at your word?

Of course!

Goku and Vegeta had left for Beerus' Planet. And Gohan had become a scholar and distanced himself from fighting. Piccolo was the only one left on Earth who could confront this crisis.

It was then that Piccolo decided to ask Shenron to draw out his latent power in an effort to counter the Gammas' might. He headed off to see Bulma, the current holder of the Dragon Balls, and proceeded to summon Shenron...

Yes... Of course.

Whoa. Unreal. This power feels incredible!

All you had, plus a bit extra.

Feeling himself overflowing with strength after Shenron drew out his latent power, Piccolo once again infiltrated the Red Ribbon Army's base to find out what the enemy was up to. Would he be able to defeat the Gammas and avert impending disaster?!

Upon re-infiltrating the Red Ribbon Army's base, Piccolo learned that the Gammas' next target was Gohan. He also discovered that Magenta was planning to abduct Gohan's daughter, Pan, to serve as bait.

Piccolo figured that Gohan would regain his former strength if he believed his daughter was in danger. So, thinking it worth a shot, he colluded with Pan to fake her own abduction...

Believing that Pan had been abducted, Gohan arrived at the Red Ribbon Army's base ready to rumble, just as Piccolo had planned. And then...

Heh heh heh... You must defeat him if you want to save your daughter.

Even after Gohan went Super Saiyan, he was still no match for Gamma 1. So Piccolo again conspired with Pan to pretend that she'd been injured by a soldier. Once again, Gohan took the bait...

His power now fully awakened, Gohan turned his rage against those who'd harmed his daughter. Having regained his battle instincts, he unleashed his true power and began his counterattack!

Try and calm down, Gamma!

#2, get in there and help him out now!

Like I told you, King Piccolo was the old me!

The Gammas had finally realized it was Magenta who was the true evil. Meanwhile, finding himself in dire straits after Gohan and Piccolo awakened their true power, Magenta activated Cell Max against Dr. Hedo's wishes!

Orange Piccolo...

As Piccolo and company enjoyed a pleasant chat, Bulma arrived along with backup: Trunks, Goten, Krillin and Android #18. The battle against the New Red Ribbon Army seemed to already be over. But then...

It's Cell...!!!

Cell Max has been activated!!!

Uraaaaaagh!

What the heck is that?!

Don't tell me... Is that a giant Cell?!

#2... We can do this! Haaaah!!!

Gamma 2 raced off like a beam of light to deliver the final blow against Cell Max. But despite using every last ounce of his energy, the final strike had no effect on the fearsome android...

It...it's over!

Gwaaaaaaah!!!

Cell Max tried to finish off Gamma 2, who was immobilized after using up all his energy! But just then, Piccolo sprang into action to save him!

Don't you dare!!!

In a bid to counter the massive, uncontrollable Cell Max's might, Piccolo transformed into the giant form he had first revealed all those years ago at the World Tournament. However...

Gwaaaaaaah!!!

Special Beam Cannon!!!

The Special Beam Cannon that Gohan unleashed blasted through Cell Max's head. With a dying scream, Cell Max swelled up even larger before finally vanishing in a massive explosion. The monstrous android was no more.

The battle was over. Having caught his breath, Piccolo watched as Dr. Hedo and Gamma 1 drew close to Gamma 2, who lay motionless on the ground. Gamma 2's body turned into a faint light and began to vanish...

...

...Thank you.

The world is safe from peril because of you.

This is my fault. I created Cell Max...

#2 paid the ultimate price for my sins.

No, I kind of knew they were the bad guys...

...but I wanted funding for my research.

Dr. Hedo, was it?

What are you planning to do now?

Gamma 1 and I will turn ourselves over to the police.

Are you kidding me?!

It's not as if the police could keep you behind bars, anyway.

...In that case, how about having Capsule Corporation hire Gamma and me?

Hmm... How are you with cosmetics?

Cosmetics?

You know, making skin look younger!

And so, with the New Red Ribbon Army no longer a threat, our super hero saga drew to a close...for now at least. But who's to say what adventures might lie ahead?
