Wish Upon an Eternal Dragon

Goku and Bulma's mystical adventure was officially in full swing! Their mission: gather all seven Dragon Balls, curious orbs said to be capable of granting any wish!

With their quest came new friends and daunting foes. After amassing an impressive six Dragon Balls, their expedition's end was within their sight.

A boyfriend?! Oh, geez!

Talk about a royal waste of a wish!

Reich Pilaf, a band of villains bent on world domination, had made off with our heroes' Dragon Balls.

With all seven in his possession, were Pilaf's evil machinations to come to fruition?

Not good! Think, think...!

Wait a sec. All I have to do is say what I want first!

WH- WHAT?!!

Your wish is granted.

Farewell.

And so, Oolong was granted his heart's desire, with the world narrowly escaping Pilaf's despotic rule. But had our heroes' trek truly ended?

Goku's search for his grandfather's keepsake, the Four-Star Ball, saw him repeatedly facing off with the Red Ribbon army, a military outfit which sought the Dragon Balls for its own nefarious purposes.

Goku's odyssey took him to the Sacred Land of Korin, where he met Bora and his son Upa. However, after retrieving the Four-Star Ball, Tao, a mercenary hired by the Army, appeared and killed Bora.

You can do something like that?!

Though at first no match for the cruel mercenary, Goku scaled Korin Tower, managing to boost his power several times over. And so, once more the tiny hero appeared before Tao for a climactic rematch!

After defeating Tao, Goku stormed the Red Ribbon Headquarters and thoroughly extinguished their forces. At long last, all seven Dragon Balls were in Goku's possession.

Okay, Shenron! Come on out!

Upa, that's your cue!

G-Got it!

My father was killed. Please, bring him back to life!

...That is something you can do, right?

Goku rounded up all the Dragon Balls and we wished you back to life!

Ooh, and get this! Goku climbed Korin Tower!

He also beat the bad guy who killed you!

Thanks to Shenron, not only did Bora walk among the living, peace reigned in the Sacred Land once more. However...

Long, long ago, a vile entity by the name of Demon King Piccolo plunged the planet into the depths of chaos and fear. Now, free to wreak terror once more, the manic monarch began his own quest for the Dragon Balls in a bid to gain eternal youth!

Hoping to curb Demon King Piccolo's threat, Master Roshi and company managed to acquire five Dragon Balls. An epic clash for the ultimate prize, the Dragon Balls, was about to unfold!

Roshi's ace in the hole, the Evil Containment Wave, failed to seal the Demon King away, culminating in the ancient master's death. With no more valiant souls obstructing his path, Piccolo claimed the remaining Dragon Balls. Now, all seven were his.

His youth restored, the Demon King was once more at the height of his terrible power and one step closer to fulfilling his abominable ambitions of global conquest.

One day, an alien warrior named Raditz, who claimed to be Goku's older brother, touched down on Earth.

Raditz's power was overwhelming. After dispatching Goku with frightful ease, he made off with Goku's son, Gohan. The only viable tactic for victory was for Goku and Piccolo to join forces!

Goku's self-sacrifice coupled with Piccolo's newly developed Special Beam Cannon was just enough to fell the mighty Raditz. After entrusting his resurrection via the Dragon Balls to his friends, Goku made his last breath.

One year elapsed. Continuing his training with King Kai in Otherworld, Goku's time to return to the land of the living finally arrived. He would engage two Saiyans en route for Earth, both possessing power far beyond Raditz's.

Hey!

Your halo has disappeared! It would appear you are alive once more!

Now hurry along!

Given a second lease on life, Goku rushed to his friends' aid and, against all odds, defeated the evil Saiyans. Earth was saved, but at what cost?

A fierce battle was set to explode... as was the planet of Namek. Having transformed into a Super Saiyan, Goku stared down his opponent: Frieza. At last, the evil emperor's full power was unleashed!

Meanwhile on Earth, Mr. Popo had summoned Shenron in hopes of restoring the Namekian dragon, Porunga.

Nevertheless, I will try.

Thanks to Shenron's intervention, Grand Elder Guru and his many children were restored to the mortal plane. Furthermore, Guru's revival meant the Namekian Dragon Balls were back, and by extension Porunga.

Porunga then moved all inhabitants of the dying planet to Earth, leaving Goku and Frieza. With Namek fast breaking down, the clash between the two arch-enemies was nearing a fiery conclusion.

Babidi, a malicious wizard with hopes of reviving Majin Buu, had arrived on Earth. Upon hearing the news from the Supreme Kai, Goku and friends set out immediately to end the wizard's ambitions.

Our heroes toppled Babidi's warriors one by one without issue. All was well... or so it seemed. The seed of evil in Vegeta's heart caught the wicked Babidi's keen eye.

Having fallen victim to Babidi's magical influence, Vegeta stormed the World Tournament arena, ruthlessly blasting spectators by the hundreds. However, Vegeta's true purpose did not lie in indiscriminate bloodshed.

Babidi! Take us somewhere far away from the city!

I've decided to fight Vegeta!

Vegeta had allowed Babidi's spell to take hold of him in order to fight Goku. The stage was now set for an unprecedented showdown between Goku and Vegeta!

The Saiyans traded blow after blow, with neither side yielding. This already complicated matter was compounded by the fact that damage sustained by Goku was being used to fuel Majin Buu's revival.

Meanwhile, Bulma and company were hard at work gathering the Dragon Balls in order to wish back the victims of Vegeta's violent rampage in the World Tournament arena. After locating all seven...

Whatever you desire, it shall be so.

This is, ooh... a little hard to explain...

Let's cut the details, shall we? Resurrect everyone who died today!

Uhh... Except for the bad ones! Yeah, that'll do!

And so, the hapless innocents slaughtered by Vegeta were brought back to life. But the day's troubles were far from over.

The fate of the universe hung in the balance as the final bout with Majin Buu raged on. However, an encounter with Hercule sent Buu into a painful fit, culminating in the good Buu's expulsion from his evil counterpart's body.

Buu!

Thanks to Hercule's intervention, Goku was able to channel the energy of everyone on Earth, completing his Spirit Bomb. At long last, Majin Buu was annihilated down to the last cell.

As for the good Buu expelled from the evil one's body...

N-No! Please, don't!

That Buu's not bad! ...Not totally, anyway!

While I admire your compassion, isn't letting him live on Earth a bit risky?

Everyone on your planet has been conditioned to fear Buu like the plague.

Were I you, I would abstain from these "simple fixes" with the Dragon Balls...

Six months later, Goku's plan went into effect, with Shenron removing memories of Buu from the Earth's population. The drama, however, had yet to end.
