Chapter 1: The Seireitei Film Festival Returns

A movie production to help support the restoration project?

That's right. Ever since the Muramasa incident, we've all been working tirelessly to make a recovery here.

Even though we're making good progress, I don't want people getting depressed about being overworked. Plus, it might help us raise some funds.

The Head Captain suggested we make use of the experience we gained from our previous film festival to produce a movie that can help raise money and provide entertainment.

When it comes to entertainment, the world of the living has a lot more to offer. I thought we could use some of their ideas.

So first, we wanted to ask you about it. You would know more since you've been stationed in the world of the living.

Do you know what movies are popular there right now?

So that's what this is all about.

Well, I can't say I know that much about it either, but...

...I think I often heard about live-action movies based on manga and novels.

Live-action? What does that entail?

It's where the characters in a popular story are acted out by real people and filmed to make it like a real-life movie.

That sounds pretty interesting. We do have the Seireitei Bulletin to work with.

Captain Kyoraku, I wanted to talk to you about the logistics for importing the materials.

Hey, you came at just the right time.

Uh, the right time for what, if I may ask?

A movie adaptation of a popular series in the Seireitei Bulletin, huh... I guess I'll start by looking through our archives.

So we want a popular series. If we're talking current, it's probably Captain Ukitake's "Warning of the Twin Fishes."

Since the Zanpakuto are in their manifested forms, if we can actually get Sogyo no Kotowari to play the role, it might pick up some buzz.

Did you call our name?

Did you?

Woah?!

Hey, where did you two go off to?

Oh, it's you, Shuhei. Did you have something to discuss?

Are you here to play?

What do you want to play?

Sorry, I'm actually here for work.

You're not going to play with us? Why not?

Ow!

Sorry about that. Seeing how you came to the barracks, you have business with Squad 13, I assume?

Boo! Boo!

Have you heard about the movie we're making as part of the restoration project?

Yeah, Kyoraku told me about it. You're in charge of filming it, right?

It kind of just turned out that way, but I'm glad you know about it. It makes this easier.

To cut to the chase, I want to make a movie based on your series, "Warning of the Twin Fishes."

The series is really popular among kids in the Seireitei.

Really? That's good to hear.

I hear it pretty often, that catchphrase.

And since we have the chance right now, I was hoping to get Sogyo no Kotowari to play the main role. What do you think?

Main role?

A movie?

That's right. You two are the main characters.

They're heroes of justice who protect the people. When the bad enemies try to tempt you, you say, "I refuse that!" Then you defeat them.

I'm sure it'll be a lot of fun, and you can make good memories.

It's fun?!

Okay!

If these two don't mind, I have no problem either. Let's make a great movie together!

Of course! Thank you very much!
