Chapter 3: A Written Report and a Love Letter

Wh-What are you saying?

Don't be embarrassed! I know you've been following Kisuke around.

No, you're mistaken! The reason I've been watching him...

...is because he's lazy and incompetent, and I wanted to prove that he's not worthy of your recommendation.

Take a look at this, and I think you'll agree.

I see...

He skipped out on his 13 Court Guard Squads work and played around in the Rukon District all day. He didn't produce any results.

Is this how a Third Seat behaves?!

Good work, Soi Fon! You've convinced me!

Look at how thorough your report on Kisuke's daily activities is. What a testament to your love for him!

I told you! I could never love...

Excuse me!

Sorry, it looks like someone I've grown attached to has been found. Can I go deal with that first?

I guess it can't be helped. I'll head over to the location of the captain's exam before you and get things ready.

Wait, Lady Yoruichi! What if he doesn't return in time for the captain's exam?

He'll not only sully Squad 2's reputation, but yours as well!

............

What's over there?

Deserters. I guess the air in the Seireitei didn't suit them.

What is this Spiritual Pressure?!

They're trying to intimidate us. They won't come out yet though.

But I made a promise to Yoruichi. I'll go check it out.

Wait! You mean to take on this massive Spiritual Pressure on your own?!

All right, we shall now begin the inauguration ceremony.

Upon examination of his qualifications and the results of his exam, I, Genryusai Yamamoto, along with three captains...

have concluded that his character and abilities do not possess any shortcomings.

As a result, Kisuke Urahara, former Third Seat of Squad 2, will be promoted to captain of Squad 12.
