Chapter 1

Phew. This report had a lot of new information about the world of the living. It was a very worthwhile read for me.

You must've done a lot of thorough research to compile this information so well, Rukia.

Thank you very much! It is most encouraging to hear you say that.

I'll be awaiting your future reports with anticipation.

Yes, sir. You can count on me!

So Captain Ukitake is excited to read my reports, huh?

Then I shall seek out some opinions on what topic to use for my next one!

Is that you, Rukia? What are you doing here?

I don't have time to bother with you. I'm in a hurry.

Hey, c'mon, what's got you in such a rush? If something's bothering you, I can help out.

I don't need any help from the likes of you right now.

Huh?! What's with the attitude? I'm just worried about you, you know.

Look, I need to get to my brother immediately, so just stay out of my way!

Why are you following me?!

I also have business with Captain Kuchiki. He asked me to bring these documents to him.

............

What is it?

I'm here because there's something I'd like to ask you.

So that's the situation. What would make for a good subject, do you think?

Hmm. All lands have cultures and traditions that have endured since ancient times.

Many have been passed on from the old times to the present. It may be a good idea to start by seeking out such cultures and customs.

I knew you'd have the answer, brother! All right, I'll head out to investigate traditions in the world of the living right away!

Captain Kuchiki, here are the documents that you requested.

Good work.

And please don't follow Rukia to the world of the living, even if you are worried about her.

...Very well.
