Chapter 2: A Pet Owner's Responsibility

So, where do I start looking? If only someone would step up to me and tell me they wanted a pet. Now, that would make things easy.

Is something wrong?

Hey, Rukia, perfect timing. Got a minute? There's something I want to discuss. You see...

I understand. So you're looking for someone who can adopt the kittens, right? I'd be glad to help.

Really?! So, you're saying you could take these kittens back to the Kuchiki manor?

Oh, um... That might be a little... I'm not sure what my brother would say.

Er, yeah, you're right.

W-Well, the chances are slim, but I can try asking.

And that's the situation. Byakuya, do you think we could take care of them here?

I can't allow it.

We prioritize missions in our daily lives, and as such, adopting animals would not be in any of our best interests.

I'm not opposed to you trying to help the kittens. However, if you truly want to help them, consider their future before you take any action.

I'm sorry, Lieutenant Iba. I thought there was a slight chance he would allow it, but...

It can't be helped, and he's got a good reason for it. Taking care of pets ain't an easy task.

But, please. Let me at least help you until you find someone who can take them in!

I'm counting on you, Rukia!

Yes! I'm happy to help!
