1. Before the battle
100 lines...And that's why Yamataikoku is now literally overflowing with rice.
Just like that!? Come on, that sort of thing doesn't just happen. What's going on?
Well, funny story. All the Servants I thought would come back on their own...didn't.
So they're still there, huh.
And what's this about rice completely overwhelming the land?
Exactly what it sounds like. The whole kingdom is now covered in rice.
You'd think so, right? But that's not the problem. The problem...
...is that Yamataikoku has nothing BUT rice now.
N-nothing but rice?
Yup. Nothing but rice.
Say, Fujimaru, have you ever heard the term "invasive species" before?
That's when a plant or animal is brought to a landit's not native to and overpopulates, right?
Isn't that when a plant or animal is brought somewhereit's not native to and then harms its environment?
?!
That's right. The "invasive" part comes in when the new plant or animal disrupts the local ecosystem.
It usually happens when the new species has no natural predators or deterrents, thereby letting it spread unchecked.
Exactly.
And for some reason, that began happening in Yamataikoku with this new kind of rice after you all left.
Well, in this case, it didn't so much "spread unchecked" as it did "erode absolutely everything."
As a result, pretty much all the vegetation there has been replaced with rice.
All the vegetation? So like, now rice grows on trees instead of acorns?
It doesn't look like it's gone that far yet, but the way things are going, it might well eventually.
Okay, that's definitely a step too far. I love rice, sure, but I love acorns too.
Unfortunately, even at this point, Yamataikoku has become so overrun with rice you may as well call it Rice Taikoku.
Rice Taikoku...
Say, come to think of it, where'd this new kind of rice come from, anyway?
I looked into that, and, well...
It looks like it came from the special seed rice Da Vinci made for the Servants who came to our rescue:
Da Vinci Crop No. 1, Chaldean Paddy Rice.
Apparently, it was only supposed to be planted in case of emergency, but now it's caused a new one...
So, basically...this whole thing is Da Vinci's fault?
...
...
...
...
Okay, I'm issuing a Rice Order right now! Begin verification immediately!
This...is a battle to defend rice itself.
For starters, harvest as much rice as you possibly can, then store it in all the elevated granary-things you can find!
At this point, even gorging yourselves on the stuff will help.
Basically, there's no faster way to scoop the algae out of a pond than to get in there and do it yourself, metaphorically speaking.
So you're saying we'll just have to throw all the Servantpower we have at the problem, huh.
All right, get ready to Rayshift!
Just like that!? This is nuts, even for us!
I've got a prediction! This battle's gonna be a GUDAGUDA old time!
If Sister's going, you'd better believe I'm going, too!
Never mind that schtick nowWaaaaaah!
