1. Before the battle
71 linesIncoming communication from the watchtower!
We have vodyanoys making landfall and building a sluice near section 7-B!
Let's take the Great Wall to head out and drive them back!
By all means, go and fight. We will remain here and watch.
You sure seem happy to take credit for this wall, even though you didn't lift a finger to help build it.
N-now, now. The important thing is, we can get around much more smoothly now.
And on top of that, it's serving a nice, simple defensive function, too. I'm very happy with it, myself.
(Personally, I'm still wondering how this person can be Qin Shi Huang, but not the Qin Shi Huang we knew of.)
(Oh well. If Sister's not worrying about it, then I won't, either.)
Be careful out there.
You know, I used to be pretty fast for a turtle. They even called me the Emerald Speedster.
But now, I think...I had to turn in my license...?
I'm pretty sure you don't need a license to swim, Grandpa.
Anyway, my chariot's all ready to go! Hop in, and I'll zip you around the Great Wall in no time!
Thanks, Boudica!
?!
No problem, Master. I am technically a Rider, after all. I'm just glad I can help.
It's a good thing my chariot turned out to be perfect for this, huh?
Yeah, Achilles's and Iskandar's just wouldn't have cut it.
They'd go too fast to safely transport any passengers... Inadvertently destroy the tracks we put on top of the Great Wall...
Use up way too many resources on a single trip... And a whole host of other possible problems I could name.
Right now, what we need is a queen with experience leading an army, and that's you to a T. So thanks again.
Don't you worry. I'll take care of it!
They say some of the Con who failed to escape are being eaten, too. You three, come with us!
We've got this!
Yes ma'am!
Okay, here we go! Make sure you hold on tight!
Aah!
What is that thing, and why is it galloping beside us!?
Who are you calling a thing?
Oh well, I suppose I can understand your shock at seeing such a gorgeous physique for the first time. Anyway, I'm Lu Bu.
Neeeigh!
(Twitch)
I know, and I'm not going to get in your way.
It's just...when I saw this grand, familiar wall and the path atop it practically made for galloping...
...my instincts called out to me. They told me:
Run like the wind!
Huh?
What do you think? It seems your chariot and my Lu Bu speed are just about evenly matched!
But wait, wait. Don't tell me.
You'd like to avoid any unfair advantages related to the absence or presence of passengers, right?
Then hop on!
Waha!
That looks like fun, too!
Ugh, he can be such a pain.
Oh well, we do have to hurry anyway, so I suppose I can race you while I'm at it.
But remember, I'm the queen of chariot riders. Don't think this'll be easy!
Phew! Guess I lost!
I won!
Mmm. I'll never get tired of galloping across plains, but running on a paved path is nice, too!
However, I have a confession to make. I broke one of the rules.
I was so focused on running that my tiny passengers flew off my back.
This wasn't just a race to the finish line. It was a race to see how quickly we could deliver our comrades.
And since I failed to do that...I lost.
(The Con are just hanging on to his tail, and they seem fine with that.)
(The Con don't seem any worse for wearflapping around on his tail...but, oh well.)
Ahaha. Is that what we agreed on?
It looks like your race helped you arrive here even sooner than we expected.
Now you just have to take care of the monsters!
Let's see...
Oh! Over there, by that river! I see vodyanoys building a sluice!
First we break the sluice, then we break them!
Sounds good to me. Even a half-built sluice might be making them stronger.
Keh heh heh! Did you really think you could get working at such a leisurely pace with me around!?
She who strikes first wins! Now, crush them!
