Ephemeral Waxing Moon. Asakusa

...Yokosuka.

Crimson Codex

Indeed. The home base for the Master of Assassin, Dorothea Coyett.

Dorothea is both a proper mage and a noblewoman.

As far as Clock Tower mages go, she's as decent as they come.

Miyamoto Iori

The Clock Tower...

Crimson Codex

That's the main headquarters for most European mages.

When it comes to raw talent for magecraft, she's easily a match for Yui Shousetsu.

Mash

Yokosuka... That's pretty far from Asakusa.

Da Vinci

It is. But we can't just ignore a part of this Singularity.

What I'm most concerned about is

Crimson Codex

Indeed. At this distance, connecting the leylines will be no easy task.

And it's a sure bet that neither Shousetsu nor Chiemon would pass up a chance like this.

Goredolf

Hmm, I see. So it's a matter of logistics.

The further our supply line has to stretch, the more difficult it becomes to keep up the fight at the front line.

Da Vinci

And if our leylines get cut off from behind while we're away from our base, we'll be left stranded on the front without a source of magical energy.

Yeah, this is a turf war all right.

G:Crimson Codex

In other words, we need to maintain our leyline connection in Yokosuka, while also defending against attacks on the Spirit Fonts we've already secured.

Your choice

And we have to do this for both Shousetsu AND Chiemon?

That sounds like an awfully high bar to clear.

G:Crimson Codex

?!

Yamato Takeru

I can make my way to any leyline we've already secured in an instant, but I can't do that for all of them simultaneously.

So I can't defend all of our Spirit Fonts by myself.

G:Crimson Codex

This is exactly why so many Masters formed alliances in the last Waxing Moon Ritual.

We did the same thing, fighting alongside several factions as the situation warranted.

Da Vinci

I bet. I can definitely see alliances and partnerships being even more important during a Waxing Moon Ritual than they are in a Holy Grail War.

Between the turf wars over Spirit Fonts and the Rogue Servants complicating things...

...a lot of things about the Waxing Moon Ritual are really unusual for a Holy Grail War.

Miyamoto Iori

...So what do we do now?

There's no chance of Shousetsu or Chiemon teaming up with us.

And so far, we haven't found any other Masters we could even ask.

Yamato Takeru

So, that just leaves...

Your choice

What about the Rogue Servants?

G:Crimson Codex

That's right! We can ask the Rogue Heroic Spirits we've befriended to defend the Spirit Fonts for us.

That's the most reliable method we have at our disposal.

Mash

Let's see. Spartacus in Yoshiwara, Sétanta in Zojo-ji, Tamamo Cat in Ueno...

...and Li Shuwen have all agreed to help us.

I just hope there are other Rogues out there who will also be willing to help.

G:Crimson Codex

There's no law that says we can't approach them ourselves.

Of course, there's every chance that it won't be easy.

Miyamoto Iori

The other Rogues are bound to be camping out at major Spirit Fonts.

We'll need to keep that in mind when connecting our leylines.

Yamato Takeru

So we'll all be counting on you, Master of Chaldea!

You are our Servant expert, after all!

Crimson Codex

All right, I'm going to wake up the Spirit Fonts I've been keeping asleep.

Of course, Shousetsu and Chiemon are bound to notice once I've connected them.

Are you all ready? Then let's begin!

2. Before the battle

Minamoto-no-Raikou

My liege. Chaldea has made a move.

Yui Shousetsu

So they have, and quite a move at that. Gather some of our troops and find out what they're up to.

Chiemon

They sure love doing things the hard way, don't they?

Jeanne

Shall I go after them?

Chiemon

...Nah.

I don't feel like dealing with them now. I'm just going to focus on taking care of the seeds.

That said...I don't like the idea of sitting back and just letting them do whatever they want, either.

I'll send some soldiers after them. That ought to at least piss them off.

3. After the battle

5 lines
Yamato Takeru

Looks like both Shousetsu and Chiemon made a move in response.

Crimson Codex

Much quicker than expected, too.

Miyamoto Iori

No point turning back after we've come this far.

Let's keep on our way to Yokosuka, but not take our eyes off our leyline.

Crimson Codex

It all comes down to our Rogue Servant friends now... I hope they're up to it.
