1. Before the battle
51 linesUmu! My Golden Theater, the epitome of artistry and passion, is complete!
I would normally be performing here daily, giving one-woman recitals, one-woman book readings, one-woman contests of strength...
Anything that would get my audience howling with excitement. But it would be a bit immature to jump right into that from day one.
This is why I will have performers whose talents I recognize serve as opening acts before I bring the house down in the finale.
Variety is the spice of life, after all. While I have no doubt the audience would be enthralled to enjoy the ultimate entertainment right from the get-go...
...it would also mean they could never be satisfied with anything else afterward, and that would be a shame.
As in most things, the order of it all is crucial. Don't forget that!
If I may, I would like to regale you all with stories.
I will start with a tale of derring-do and adventure which shall keep you on the edge of your seat.
We may even see some episodes that are not unlike the situation we find ourselves in right now.
Now, allow me to tell you of the first voyage of Sinbad the sailor...
Waha!
This is so exciting. I can't wait to hear what happens next.
So he thought he'd landed on an island, but it turned out to be the back of a gigantic whale... That DOES sound like us!
No wonder kindling a fire on the "island" made things go terribly wrong for the sailors.
Good thing for us you're so docile, Elder.
Hoho. When you get to be my age, you forget all sorts of things...
At this point, I don't even know how to move my real body anymore. You could pinch it or tickle it, and I wouldn't feel a thing.
That aside, this storyteller sure does have a beautiful voice. I'd love to have her tell me a bedtime story...
For what possible reason do you still retain such desires?
(Pulse-pounding story)...
Oh no. That's terrible!
(Whoa, Sister's squeezing my hand really hard!)
(Slightly spooky story)...
Oh no. I can't believe it!
(Whoa, Sister's squeezing my hand really hard!)
I get the feeling the younger sister's enjoying this for different reasons...
That's all for tonight...
Now it's time for some dancing! I hope you're all ready to have some fun!
Next, I'm going to do some magic for you! Oh, and I apologize in advance if I mess up any of the tricks!
Next, our final performance of the day.
...Come on, let's go. Trust me, it's for your own good.
Best if we let this place remain a happy memory.
Huh?
I'm not sure why, but I get the sense she's looking out for us.
Come on, Sister.
Do not worry about the Con. Chaldea already used a recording of the rehearsal to test how they would react.
For whatever reason, they were fine with it.
Hoho, I think I'll be on my way, too. I've got a bad feeling about this...
Umu, I must congratulate the opening acts once again!
Scheherazade, your storytelling was magnificent! Mata Hari, your dancing was sublime!
As the last performer of the day, it is clear I have my work cut out for me!
Now, having changed attire, I think I will steal just a glance at the audience before I go on.
(Peek)
Oho. Now that is a nicely warmed up crowd. Why, they practically glow with the volcanic fire of Mt. Etna!
...Though it is curious that there seems to only be a certain subset of Servants among them...
I suppose they must have relinquished their seats to accommodate the Con. How graceful of them.
Anyway, without further ado...!
Let's get this Elisabeth Musical started!
While the legendary finale of the first show could charitably be called unbridled chaos...
...according to some of those few who experienced it, namely the evil dragon and god, the Con were, strangely enough, utterly enraptured.
